As good as Bernardo is, Sterling and Sane are the best wing pair in the world. They complement each other so well, having played more than a season together.

Pep also said post match basically that he is sometimes tough on Leroy because he sees all the potential he has and wants him to improve off the ball.

Think Sane wants to stay and loves it here. He’s just trying to do what’s best for himself and get a big contract.

The problem the club has now is pretty simple imo - Sterling's £300k pw contract. That's what Sane will believe he's worth and I think he's right. If he played 90 mins every week like Sterling does he'd have better stats and that'll be the focus of the negotiations. A few moons ago I'd believe the talk of going to Bayern but the PL is so far ahead of the Bundesliga now it would be a huge backward step. He seems happy and settled in England and I'm sure minutes on the pitch and pounds in the bank will sort it out.

Personally I would not worry about him leaving. He has 2 years left on his contract, I sincerely doubt we would allow him to just leave and it would have to be in the region above 150m as he has certainly put in better performances than Dembele did for Dortmund. I can't see anyone having the ability to afford that price tag (we would never deal with PSG). At worst Pep can have discussion with him about promising to play him more next year if his performances improve or become more consistent, and to take it from there.

He can still sign a deal in his final year of his contract. We will not sell below that figure and I am happy for us to run his contract down rather than let him go for a fee that does not represent his true value. If others are not willing to splash above 150m for him, then there is more value for us to keep him here for those 2 years.

Let's hope Leroy can get a few games in before the end of the season and then sign that contract extension

He’s knows that another six months and a better run of games in the team means he could negotiate more money than he’s being offered now.

He’s in no rush.

He doesn’t need to be in a rush.

Sterling's contract talks went on a similar amount of time as Leroy’s has and Sterling is a year older. He waited, he played the game to get more money.

Whenever he signs it’ll be a great day and I hope he just gets more game time in the meantime!
