Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

For what its worth I think it was an emotional decision as Pep got really so angry with Sane and so hauled him off. However we live to fight another day so let's look to the brighter side.

Sane and Sterling frighten the faeces out of defenders. They are not left shitless when facing Mahrez. They are all three highly dangerous players but Mahrez is no 3 in the frightening defenders stakes.

Agreed. Sane, in particular, has searing pace, but when the game is level, he needs players to release the ball earlier and more accurately so that he can use the space. Once we were behind today, Chelsea retreated and negated said space, at which point it becomes a question of whether guile would be the better option.

I'll repeat what I said about basing my viewpoint on what we needed at the time. Arsenal, Spurs and United were quite different. We scored early in most of these hames iirc. Here we were met with a well organized defence that we were trying to breach. Sane made poor mistakes but was one of our most dangerous players in the first half. Did we imagine that Mahrez would somehow find his dribbling form (the one he had whilst at Leicester which he hasn't shown since)?

Predictably we even became more blunt. I prefer the guy that makes mistakes but provides that little bit of hope than the one you don't even see for 60 mins so I don't think I am biased.
And I'll repeat that I just don't/didn't see it.

Anyone else has that 45 mins he did and they get pelted.

It's all "trust in Pep" 99% of the time but when he takes Sané off he's off his rocker.

Whoever handles his PR earns their money seemingly.

Even if an angel came down and managed a football club there are chances she would make mistakes. I am not saying Pep made a mistake because Sane was involved. I'm simply telling it as it is. We became toothless when the boy got off. That's not all. Sterling (my MOTM) who lost a good chance in first half by the way was made to play against their best defender when Sane got subbed off. Earlier he had Alonso on toast. Meanwhile Mahrez was invisible.

I'd say anyone who had Mahrez's 45 or even 60 mins performance deserve to be hauled off moreso than Sane. No bias involved.

This. Sane going off was a turning point.

I thought he was doing ok.
Steange one from PEp.
Would have been ideal player to have on as the game opened up.

Wasnt getting a lot of space to work with,
The fact that d.silva wasnt having a good game also affected him

Mahrez should have come off.
