Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

Personally, I think Leroy has suffered because of Mendy. (I know he’s been injured, but hear me out). Without Mendy, Leroy has been able to hug the touch line and cut in usually behind the full back to latch onto David Silva’s passes. Zinchenko is perfect for this as he generally cuts infield whereas when Mendy plays he invariably moves to the touch line to whip in his crosses. The other side is similar in that Walker is more of a touch line hugger and Danilo likes to cut inside. If you look at Sterling on the left, he prefers to cut in, leaving Mendy to do what he’s good at. I’ve noticed that the times when Mendy and Leroy have both played that there is a stutter on hat side as they both seem to not anticipate what the other is going to do. The left hand side is, I think, where we get most of our crosses and tap-ins, so is a very important part of our play. Maybe I’m wrong, but that is what it has looked like for me...( apologies for lack of paragraphing, but I only got a CSE Grade 4 at school for English. Not one of my strong subjects!!)

I get your logic however I think they only started 3 games this season together. 5-0 Burnley, 6-1 Southampton and 3-1 Palace. If you take the Palace game you will notice Mendy playing inside most of the time with Sane wide left.

I personally don't think Sané's lack of game time has anything to do with Mendy.

I don't really see the appeal for Leroy to go to Bayern. He plays in the best team in the world, under the best manager. We will be able to match any wage they offer him. He has a much better chance of winning in Europe with us than them.

I know Bayern are a huge club, but they've won the league season after season recently. If he goes there and wins the league, it's nothing special.

From City's perspective, it's going to either be a great bit of business and we'll end up getting £100m + for him. Or we keep him and he gets a few more trophies to add to his collection.
You're assuming his decision is football related. For all we know, he may have other interests outside of football that are a consideration for him

Or any other player mentioned on this thread.
Form is the only reason.

A much better chance of winning the CL with City than Bayern?

Are you sure? Bayern have 5 wins, 5 runners up and 19 semi finals places. City have 1 semi final place to show for a decade of trying.

It's a hard competition to win if you haven't done it before. Look how long it took Juve and Barca to break their duck. Look at PSG's laughable record.

That's not taking into account possible sanctions FIFA and UEFA may or may not impose.

As long as there is FFP I'm not even sure there is much of a financial gap.

Brexit also adds an element of uncertainty for all EPL clubs. That starts with the plummeting pound. A player who went to England 3 years ago because his wage packet there was worth €100,000 a week is now taking home "just" €80,000.

I don't know if Man City and PSG will still be big players in Europe in 5 years time. Man City look to be better placed ,but who can say for definite?

Bayern on the other hand will definitely still be a big player in 5, 10 and 20 years time. Ditto the 2 Spanish clubs andJuve.
