Donald Trump

I spoke to a few Americans when I went over a month ago and all of them said the same thing, he is an a**hole but he is doing an okay job. They said they would probably vote for him again on that basis. The number one reason why is what alternative do they have?

Regardless of what you or anyone thinks of Trump personally, the Democrats have to get their own house in order first. It seems to be quite easily forgotten that Clinton was a poor candidate and represented the same old. It wasn't fraud, she lost and she lost because she failed to communicate what she would do about issues facing Americans.

The Democrats have to proceed at their peril and understand that the moral high ground alone isn't a position you can take to win an election. Obama and Clinton thought that and a year prior to the election they laughed at the idea of Trump as president, they aren't laughing now.

A post that demonstrates that all is well if (1) the ends justify the means (he's an asshole, but, you know, who cares because he's doing an "okay job"), that (2) "alternatives" are a function of one's party, not the qualities of the leader ("What alternative do they have?" -- gee whiz, I didn't know that we knew who the Democratic nominee was) and (3) the politics of getting revenge ("they aren't laughing now") are the most important driver behind a support base.

Clinton "failed to communicate what she would do about issues facing Americans" only if you stuck your head in a mailbox for a year and a half. The "moral high ground" may not work, true -- the moral low ground works a treat apparently, but so what -- "they aren't laughing now." Yep, you've gotten your revenge, boy howdy.

But in your -- ahem -- objective conversations with Americans did you share your immediate post-election prediction? Do you remember what it was?

When it all calms down it will probably work out to be the right decision for them considering the world right now. No matter his past he will get far more done and he is someone different. Obama is a fantastic speaker and won great victories but he was a terrible president. Trump I think can represent more people and get more done for them which is what is desperately needed, he won't do half of the bad stuff he has said. The last thing they needed was another Obama and that was the other option in Clinton.

Congrats -- you were right. He didn't do half -- he did damn near ALL of it. And more.

TBF he was probably still in awe after meeting his hero, Sid Owen, who seems to have been caught up in the shooting. He's been photographed just as he's shouting "Rickyyyy!"

Does anyone?
I’m surprised he didn’t say his rhetoric is better than anyone else’s.
He has the biggest and best rhetoric and he’s not afraid to use it.

Glossy PR shots with a victim of a mass shooting where 22 people lost their lives.

This is not compassion, it's just a total lack of shame or self awareness.

WTF its almost as if they have made up the injured girl in make up as convenient prop for this photo opportunity. Its really crass how Dumb Donald and his associates see the world, you rock up take a few smiling pictures with a few hand selected victims and off you pop having been a contributing factor to why these people got shot. Just how fucked up can you get!!
