By their red fruits ye shall know them.

I thought it was a soft penalty. There's contact certainly but mane makes the most of it. The frustrating thing about reading the previous comments, is it makes out it's just us or we are really bad for it. Most players go down under contact these days, sometimes they do a shit job at it and it looks theatrical. I'm not a fan of it to be honest but it's not just us and I have seen plenty of city players do it too. Let's try and not be so blinkered

Now, ask him about TAA’s stamp on Tieleman’s achilles (which isn’t mentioned after the match).
Klopp was furious with the reckless contact, which he believed should have resulted in a sending off instead of just a yellow card.

"It's just a challenge which I really don't understand," Klopp said.

"How he can do it, because the ball is far away. The player is full sprint to bring him down without the ball around, for me there is only one colour card.

"I see in your eyes that I am probably the only one who sees it like this.

"It is dangerous as hell. I don't want to cause the boy any problems but he has to calm down. He has to calm down."
Jürgen Klopp, interview after match against Leicester, ESPN

It was both a dive and a penalty. A player should be reprimanded for diving like that even when there’s been contact.
Agree, I'm not sure why folk are saying no pen when they'd be going fuckin mental if that were waved away for us. But as you say shocking dive from Mane.

No but yes. There was contact and that normally means a penalty these days. Mane’s dive which won him the penalty was probably one of the worst dives I’ve seen for a while.
Just contact should not equal a foul (penalty), it was clear play acting from that little fucker, he should have been booked. There was a touch of his boot from Albrighton who could have gone down himself (would have been ridiculous) and Mane then proceeded to launch himself on the deck exaggerating the knee break for extra effect. VAR had the chance to make a hero call but not a fucking chance. If that had happened anywhere other than Leicester’s box no one would have batted an eyelid when play carried on without anyone even considering a foul. It was one of the most harsh decisions you will see this season.

ive been going the game for 35 years as a city fan, credit where its due if they win there next game they equal our 18 game win streak record!!

Looked a certain penalty with a dive added in.
More worried with the keeper fecking it up for them to get a winner again.
Just hope their luck runs out shortly.

Yes they are vulnerable. Assuming we beat Wolves then we would be 5 points behind again. We have to play the dippers twice so win both and we would be a point ahead. I know it's not as simple as that but some people on here need to get a grip. It's still early October and we all know what happened last season. The way they have been playing recently and with KDB back I reckon we'll win at Anfield next month. We are a better team/squad than they are but my worry is VAR. Seems to me that we may need to do something really exceptional to win the PL this season, and I mean really exceptional.

It was, unfortunately. You’d be going ballistic if we didn’t get that in the last minute.
No I wouldn’t, there was hardly any contact and anywhere else (including the Dippers box) on the field that’s not a foul. Anyone who’s played the game as an adult at any level knows you can ride a challenge and a nudge or coming together of feet/legs doesn’t constitute a foul. You might go ballistic, I don’t.

The NBC commentator went into full on wankfest after the penalty was scored.... Even repeating himself whilst loudly proclaiming
"COULD THIS BE THEIR YEAR?
COULD THIS BE THEIR YEAR?!"

They are so desperate for it to happen.
I had long tuned them out and didn’t hear this when watching live — just listened back and I now curse your name, as it has just gotten me annoyed again. ;-)

Loads of ex strikers talk about how they have to go down when there's contact or they might not get a penalty. Some are just better at going down without it looking like that. There was a game last season that you won 1-0 with a very soft penalty, can't remember which game and who went down.
