Boris Johnson meets the people: Glastonbury: Visit cancelled because of protesters Follows: Stainforth: ‘I don’t want to meet you.' Leeds: ‘Leave my town’ Doncaster: ‘You’ve a cheek. People have died because of austerity’ Rotherham: ‘Get back to London' -Not going well

After just reading this tweet is anybody aware of protests at Jeremy Corbyn walkabouts that are not been picked up by the media? I am just asking for a friend that's all?

Corbyn was heckled by a nutter in Scotland this week. It was well covered but Corbyn generally has enough of a following to ensure he is mobbed by supporters wherever he goes - a bonus of being a cult figure. Boris is just meeting people and finding they think he is a massive shit - and his base level support is non existent in comparison to Corbyn. The same happened to May - they ended up busing people around the country to make her appear to have support but it's hard to look enthusiastic about these car crash tory campaigns. Unlike Corbyn they dont have supporters who think they are the messiah and it shows.

Maybe those folks with an extra BMW on the driveway could cough up a bit more.
Like some surgeons, or even our own politicians earning over £75,000 a year? That's not your money to take, and is entirely their own choice what they wish to spend their extra finances on; family, holidays, creature comforts. That's the whole purpose of having your own money, you're free to spend on what makes you happy. Otherwise why bother having "wages"; all "earnings" should just be directed to the Government.

What a utopia that would be. No choice, no freedom, no economic liberty. Just drones working for the "system". On the plus side they'd be kept healthier so they could work longer!

If it's not our money to take that's an argument for no tax. We have tax that's how the country functions, what we are talking about is what level is fair, that's subjective it's never been fixed at one level it changes with every government up or down depending on priorities of whoever is in government.

Not much of a caring attitude if you think it'll be "funny as fuck" that people find themselves in a badly run care home.

You purport to care about people, but in truth it's only if they toe the same line as you. I hope you didn't take the Hippocratic Oath.

O it will be funny when people who vote for a badly run NHS get old and have to reap what they sow, will be hilarious infact.

See Pretty Vacant has been going on about the Tory policy on immigration which essentially is all about Labour's ( as yet unpublished ) immigration policy of letting in extra immigrants equal to the population of Manchester and Newcastle each year.
Vacant then describes how the Tories will control the numbers whilst letting in the skilled workers we need but err.. no mention of the unskilled workers such as those needed to staff care homes and hospitals and the tourist industry and construction workers in high cost of living cities and fruit pickers and and and etc etc etc.
Notwithstanding the difficulties of employing such workers locally in normal times, given that we are at "full employment" currently then it seems inevitable that the economy will still require immigrant workers to carry out these functions.
Big problem Jeff.

We pay taxes for services we agree with. We elect a Government that sets the rate as to how much tax each citizen contributes.

Using "guilt" to emotionally shame people who pay their rate of tax, yet still have enough left over to fund these services even more, is morally reprehensible. It's not your choice how others should spend their extra funds, nor is it the Government's to claim. Someone who works hard, earns their wage, contributes their level of tax yet still has a considerable amount left over, should be free to spend it however they wish (in confines to certain legal aspects)

If they want to contribute more, then it is their decision, and not one influenced by others.

Don't you worry about what I am near, if you was in a care home I'd make sure your porridge was ice cold every morning whilst Doris who was against a shit NHS is getting the good stuff.
Well aint'chu a little charmer! I expect to see you on a watchdog expose in the future. ;)

And what makes you think i'm for a badly run NHS? I'm saying "stop taxing the life out of the general public, and start making the NHS accountable for the millions it wastes every year".

The big problem is the number of morons who will read what she's been saying in the express and the sun, believe her shit and decide she is on 'their' side. Reasoned argument like yours won't be considered because, you know, Corbyn's a terrorist sympathiser.

even the Tories have dropped that chestnut!

It is influenced by others at every election, if one party advocates cutting tax and reducing public services and another advocates increasing tax and services then the party that wins gets to implement it. So those voting for the one that loses will have their contributions influenced by others.
My choice is the second option you are free to choose the first but if you do then you need to explain how you replace those services or justify doing without those services.

No, no, no, that's sailed right over your head.

No-one has the right to someone's elses wealth, and morally, noone should guilt others into how they spend that wealth. You're talking about a different matter entirely.

I'm talking about tax and spend policy, if you're not then you've lost me.

An element of truth in his post though - has to be said. Who do these old tory gammons think is going to be mopping their piss in a few years time.
The same people who vowed to look after people in need of care, regardless of their political opinions, aligiences or backgrounds.

You seriously cannot be advocating his sort of opinion.

An element of truth is what i said. Finding unskilled workers is going to be a big problem for our aging population who will need carers and other low skilled workers to keep them in clean pants. But as long as we get rid of these dirty foreigners that is more important.
