Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Cheers mate. Never noticed them as we usually come in from the Academy corner to the east stand.

When l am bursting before the match and half time l always manage to get behind the blokes who have about 8 pints to piss away.
This whole argument is spurious as there are plenty of toilets outside the crowd. At Maine Road we had to use the Social Club facilities (or the Passageways)!

Andy Burnham has been totally ineffective despite all his grandiose promises before he was elected.

ha ha his narrowing of main roads in and out of town, shambolic bus lanes and roadworks that dont improve nothing have been a masterstroke
i dont use rail so cant comment on

Once saw a Sunderland fan lean against a wall on the entry connecting the Platt Lane and the Kippax and had a Tom tit as dozens passed in both directions.

Did cross mind that toilets in stadium and Summerbees are very close to food and drink outlets and the shop .......well.

But there are public toilets in public places in all sorts of towns plus railway and bus stations etc so even historically why no bogs where tens of thousands descend on football grounds with loads of beer in them. I cant recall any at any ground ever.

..
Wembley has one outside the ground.

And yet retail is still falling faster than the rest of the country despite the increase in the number of City centre residents which tells you something significant is going on. If people choose to live in the City centre its because they are time conscious, therefore these people don't spend hours Christmas shopping on Market St when it can be done in 15 minutes online on the 21st December.

The roads despite shift from cars to bus and cycle lanes are still empty of cars. There is possibly a link. My Mum and Dad used to occasionally drive into Manchester for the odd item. They'd never do it now partly because it's just awkward to drive into Manchester and park.
I dont know why you have a massive downer on town, but most of this post to a driver is just not true.

I like to buy my jeans in town instead of online, and its usually packed where i go.

Every town including Leeds that i know well have empty shops, and you going to tell me Leeds isnt booming.

A harsh assessment given metropolitan mayors with the exception of London have to oversee increasing budget cuts that have seen insufficient resources to fund even basic services. The funding of transport outside the capital is but none existent.

Oxford Rd looks fantastic and the transport for bus and pedestrians is wonderful. My Mum and Dad who frequently drive in and use the hospitals hate it.

Bus and walkers have been prioritised at the expense of car drivers. I like it cos I am in the first camp

at expense of car drivers unless know area and roads it's very easy to get caught out ( fine on way)

Wonder if expansion/movement is back on the menu - City Voice doing a questionnaire re Family Stand size & location.

The stadium needs expanding again and modernizing on the exterior big time as the inside is fantastic! When the north stand is done will the corners finally get something done with them so they don’t look a state?

I think a few people have said the corners at the south end of the stadium are only temporary. You are right re the externals... grey and grim. The whole outside including the paving and lighting is awful.

fingers crossed then regarding the corners. Wasn’t there talk of an Video LED wrap going onto the stadium at one point?

The original architects should be embarrassed by the grey exterior. Only the posters give it a bit of colour. They were not football people who designed it believe me. I have told this story before but we very nearly had grey, white and yellow seats. No blue whatsoever. I remember being in a design team meeting with a London based architect who said he didn’t think blue was appropriate! Yours truly grassed him up to city and kippax blue was invented and patented as a colour.
