I think she’s far more pro-active than many people give her credit for. The problem is we’re not holding that many cards. If you think we get a bad press now, it would be a million times worse if we started banning journalists.

Agree we Dont think we need to ban them, but a swift letter from a lawyer about defamation or whatever other term it is regarding calling the club 'grubby' etc would be helpful surely

I totally agree with you BUT I do kind of think that if we genuinely felt on the right side of the argument we should have contested this in court from the off. Instead we've just done our own thing, broken the rules and hoped we'd get away with it. I don't think we've covered ourselves in glory here and I'm pretty disappointed that an operation as slick as ours hasn't found a smarter way of dealing with this. Really hoping that on appeal this will reduced to one year (which I can deal with given next season will be quite transitional) and also that we go completely mental and tear down every other club we can. Plenty of other clubs are behaving in a very dodgy manner and I hope we make sure they're called out on it.

It's very hard to be smart etc when our opponents keep moving the goal posts !

from the BBC website......

"La Liga President Javier Tebas praised Uefa for "finally taking decisive action".

"Enforcing the rules of financial fair play and punishing financial doping is essential for the future of football," he said.

"For years we have been calling for severe action against Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, we finally have a good example of action and hope to see more. Better late than never."

The Beeb straight in there with an anti-City quote - what they fail to mention is that Javier Tebas is a REAL MADRID supporter.

Its a shame the premier league management are so petty and bitter that they can't see what's going on. Those managing the laliga and bundesliga know that English football is on the rise to the top, more attractive games, a huge global support plus the PL could dominate for years! The Spanish and Germans aren't going to have that so they are desperate to throw in all the obstacles that they can, this isn't a City VS the world thing, its a calculated attempt against the premier league but the fools at the top are so obsessed with their old boys union that they can't see through their bias, you either belong to Liverpool or Manchester united or you get no love from us and that would be the downfall of the premier league. These fools would soon realize that the gift the FFP presented to them was nothing more than a trojan horse! the FFP would soon go after Liverpool then Manchester united, and when that happens the tabloids would call for solidarity in English (might even throw in the British card) football but then it would be too late. The treachery and deception from the premier league has gone too far this time, the bitterness has totally blinded them this time, fuck solidarity, time for us to play dirty too, get a cyber army of our own, a media flash mob, statisticians and analysts to question the income and transfers of the so called old boys and then get football blogs and a few independent media allies to put the news out there.

One thing I am strugling with is the charge.

Etihad have many investors from the UAE and obviously our owner is one, there is nothing fraudulant or corrupt about such investment and cetainly not illegal

If etihad use some of their investments to them to fund our sponsorship, well that's their decission and shouldn't need to be declared in my opinion.

So the only way uefa could know the money may have been partly from investmemts from the shiek could inly be found out through illegal means such as the hacking claims.

So uefa are using illegal means and inuendo to make a case and charge us.

Anyone defending uefa is defending illegal acts and collusion.

It's not against the law for our owner to load/give money to Etihad Airways. He even bailed out was it Lloyd's banks !
