This the coughing fit flu? Whole family had this and all exactly the same symptoms (apart from my boy who had the flu jab so who knows. It was a literal permanent 10 or so day cough with lethargy and headaches.

It’s hard to know what it was but we’ve realised the symptoms are the exact same as the Coronavirus.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s been here for longer than they said.

I have had a hard to shift cough and have been very 'phlegmy' for a few weeks, since the end of Jan maybe. There are 2 strains doing the rounds, a good cop and a bad cop. maybe we have had the good cop?

Either way I am pontificating above my pay grade.

Vulnerable children and those with special educational needs will also still be in attendance.

Subsequently, my wife will either continue to attend her regular school, or kids from the surrounding areas will be centralised at another nearby school.

Same here. My middle daughter hardly ever gets ill but she was sunk by it. 2 weeks nightmare over Xmas. Floored us all.

You would think pre briefings were given by government to these schools beforehand then as it happened suddenly this morning they were told to send them home.

I'm a special needs teacher in a school that has a multitude of needs and health conditions that all fall under the umbrella of having an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP.) The school closed on Tuesday due to the concerns of the 'underlying health issues.' It would appear that Boris is enforcing the school a d others like it to reopen!

Makes no fucking sense, as I said it was decided to close the one class we have of students with learning dificulties and send them home for their own health for an indefinate period.

Now do they return? And if so you then open a full campus for one class? You will need to provide facilities and catering too and then you may as well allow library access as well.

You basically are staying open and the risks are still there.

I think you have misinterpreted the use of the term vulnerable in this case.

That or as per usual the briefing is vague and open to interpretation.

Exams are cancelled


Testing will be up to 25,000 a day,hospital patients,areas of outbreaks,vulnerable people,healthcare workers there will be ways coming online so people don't have to go to hospital to take tne test

Can I ask who is being tested?

The official 111 advice is to self isolate if you have any symptoms?

Is it only people who are actually being admitted?

I would like to see more of these swab drive thru places but the system obviously can't take it?

People need to prioritise their own circumstances, listening to govt advice and guidelines isn't working is it? If teachers want to go in to work to look after people and they feel morally obliged to then that's up to them. I know tons of people turfed out of their jobs having to claim SSP over the last few days, if teachers were waiting for permission and leadership from govt then they haven't got it.

Can I just add that the job your wife does is remarkable.
