The poster also said businesses and employees, go on tell me the government have contacted them all and explained how they are going to help. They haven’t, many friends and myself who have small business who are in the dark. We want answers to plan ahead, putting no restrictions out there and failing us all is killing us.

we don’t want to hear oh we will help, we want to know how and why.

That's understandable but to be fair the government are up against it here (and that's an understatement) and to expect them to have all the answers and have everything in place immediately after the chancellor made his £330bn announcement just a couple of days ago is a bit of a stretch. People need to exercise a bit of patience here

It's a minefield mate. I think it's the half announcements that are the problem. Don't go to the pub etc but we're not stopping you. Difficult I know and know why they (the gov) are doing it, but people - especially in this country - will do what they want and are aloud to do
Tbh with you, people are fucking thick if they are still going to the pub.
My son in law got home from work early last week, so instead of helping out he went to the pub for a couple of hours. Suffice to say he was needed to rush his son to hospital an hour later. He’s a fucking dick and he was told so.

I didn’t read it as half arsed but then again I have a brain, not having a go at you. People are so self indulgent and smug that they now ignore government advice on everything.
Yes martial law may help, then you’ll still get the political dicks on here having a go about a totalitarian government.

This forum exists to provide a platform for your opinions and mine. If you choose to use it to applaud descriptions of the scientists advising our government as 'inept' I choose to call you pathetic.
And if you want to continue to do that, then I'll continue to tell you to fuck off. So we're all happy. Seems rather pointless to be going for ad hominem criticisms though, doesn't it.

Alicante is a hotspot for Brit dick heads.
Fortunately most head to Benidorm after they get off their flights. We’re in the opposite direction on the Orihuela Costa - you get a better class of dickhead around these parts. Cabo Roig is a bit rough though... :-)

Thanks
Yes we are a better class of dick heads ; )

As I said yesterday was zero update on everything. Nothing had changed so that was a day of putting plans in place for people. Patience is needed but when it seems they are moving slowly on every aspect of this it doesn’t give you much faith that they will come through.

I think in a few months when we've been in proper lockdown for 7 weeks, people will look back at this phase of soft-lockdown like it was the good old days, but also understand why it was a good idea to bring it in gradually - which is what other countries like Germany are doing too.

Yes, the vast majority head to Beni, and the dickheads where you are certainly exercise a little more decorum
in their dickheadedness ;)

When they came out with the proposals for closing the schools they were immediately criticised for not providing enough detail ie who are the key workers? The financial support proposals are immensely more complex. I’ll guarantee that when they’re published the government will be deluged with criticism that they’re not thought through, that they’ve missed groups of people etc.

I have just witnessed the horrendus scene of the woke family at number one departing Hagley en masse and driving off to their country residence in Wales.
I was reading about this happening in France earlier on in the week. Let's hope the locals near Aberystwyth treat them with the destain they deserve.

Saw this happening a week or so ago with all the Lisbonites and Seville well to do heading off to their second homes in the Algarve - idea being less chance of contracting virus in lower density populations and living areas. Showed scenes on the Spanish border coming into Algarve before lockdown there reminiscent of the movie convoy.

Norwegian prime minister has also ordered Norwegians to return to their primary homes after many vacated to their summer cabins to escape Oslo. I suspect the cotswolds and Lake District may have much higher normal occupancy levels for this time of the year.

My response was about education, you are trying to conflate the discussion into other areas because you were wrong, and you were abusive.

I’m involved in eduction. Principally my involvement has been with the DfE and school leaders. I was at a meeting over two weeks ago with heads and the LEA discussing their local action. My son-in-law works at a local uni and he has spent the last month developing and organising on-line resources for students in his Department and commenced student exams via Skype.

Heads know who the vulnerable children are. Heads know who the free school meal children are. Heads know who the key workers’ children are.
Around the country yesterday school leaders were re-organising their schools to deal with the closure/partial opening. Today they will be putting their plans in action.
If i still worked in a school i would be co-ordinating which schools should open with my fellow colleagues as we don’t need all schools are open.
The Government, rightly, want their schools to remain open for the children of the valiant people who are in the frontline of this war. You may even see local schools open over the weekends and holidays to help the emergency services.

My trust in what’s going on behind the scenes is far greater than a few people sat behind a computer slagging off the government for their own ideology and complaining nothing’s being done. The same people who are for the rights of us all, yet very quick to abuse and attempt to bully those who disagree with them. Some of you need to develop some empathy, resilience and fucking balls, because everyone needs to sort this out, and a lot currently are working their bollocks off doing just that.
I do sympathise with people who are stressed out and working themselves into the ground, even more so when their bosses who implement the overall strategy get it wrong. We are entitled to ask where is the mass testing strategy to identify carriers of the virus. We haven't got one because up until the 11th hour every Western nation was planning on mitigation and a controlled infection of the herd.

Yep Apparantly they decided to go a day early to "Miss the Traffic". If I'd had a machine gun to hand they wouldn't be going anywhere. Selfish twats.
Still the good news is they wont be having the inconsiderate multi-day teenage parties they have in the summer months when not at their Welsh retreat.

Incidently they took a trailer with them that was full of all the stuff they have ransacked from local supermarkets and get this they even took a chest freezer with them. I despair, I really do.

Ask what you like about the mass testing strategy, knock yourself out, but I very much doubt anyone on here can help you out no matter how many times you post it or even if you write to every vice chancellor. But I do admire your persistence.
There are a lot of people out there doing everything they can to keep us safe and to keep us fed. I don’t think, despite what others think, that those in power are sat around thinking up cunning plans to fuck every thing up.
That’s not to say they get things wrong, but I doubt anyone is trying deliberately to get it wrong.

I worked with a guy once who said to me, “You make your decisions. You don’t make a wrong decision, but you may make a decision that may turn out to be wrong. Learn from it, get over it and move on.”
Better we do nothing and lead stultifying lives?
