There are a large number of hospitals who aren’t anywhere near running out of ICU beds.

It seems to be that in some areas hospitals are having it tough and are very busy but in others it’s quiet. Very different things going on from borough to borough even if they’re next door to each other.

Could be that he’s in one of the quieter hospitals. They might just keeping him in IC as he’s not improving while they’re quiet and can afford to do that, hopefully it’s that way and he’ll be out come the end of the week.

He in St. Thomas mate

Have to admit that i'm having similar thoughts myself, i genuinely hope this is not the case.
i dont think its anything more than what were being told,,he'l be on oxygen but not a ventilator,he's most likely to have a build up on his lungs which is early onset of pneumonia, how his body deals with it well thats anyones guess,he could be out in 3 days or he could be dead in 3 days and thats the basics,,so come on Boris lad

I have had 2 mates grandparents die of it today, heard about peps mum and then my hero Boris in intensive care.

This is fucking horrific.

The numbers at this stage are horrendous. It's likely he won't be fit for ages. Crisis is not the word.

Please take this as a moment to reflect on how we can be good to each other and get through the next year.

Spot on mate, you hear the words "a big year" a lot in life, especially in football, but this is about us all this, our lives and kids lives and their kids, scary time this.

whats new to me is this seven day period, you should clear up within that period but if symptoms stay then they tend to get worse,no mention of the symptoms lasting 14 days then clearing, that couple on the japan cruise ship had symtoms for 4 weeks and made full recovery without venting

Boris will have a high bmi which won’t help him.

Please god he pulls through.

We don’t know because we’ve not been tested in enough numbers. It’s said that there are people who are asymptomatic despite having it.

For all we know that scratchy throat and slightly tight chest and mild cough a few of us have had over the last six weeks was COVID-19 for some of us. That’s why I’ve worn a mask whenever I’ve been out anywhere, just in case.

I would say just before xmas everyone I knew were coughing some had aches tight chest had that cough for months

Regardless of your personal thoughts on Boris,I’m hoping he makes a full recovery, must be absolutely stressful for his pregnant partner and his family at this time ..
Agreed. I'm pretty apolitical really. Certainly with regards to UK politics, as I don't live there anymore. But, he's a human being at the end of the day. With family (including a pregnant partner). Some of the stuff on here earlier, that we cleaned up while the thread was locked, was pretty shabby, putting it mildly.

Makes you wonder are they 100% sure there isn’t a different strain of this virus or a mutation..

It really hits home when the guy you think would be most secure, with access to the best treatment possible, ends up in intensive care anyawy. Feels totally surreal. It's fucking scary tbh and it makes you feel so vulnerable... I really hope he pulls through. I think this country needs it to be honest, regardless of your political leanings.

I think the 7 day thing is about you being most infectious, and in mild infection you improve, as did the chancellor, Hancock, and the Cheif Medical Officer who are all back at work after self isolating for the week, I assume they have been retested and know they are free of it ?
