Summer Transfers

Some clubs might need to sell just to survive.Times like this it's good not to be owned by Wardle or Lee.

It’s going to be very ironic.

“Please Mr. Mansour, will you buy our best player for 100M?”

“Sorry, no can do, FFP you see”

“But we’ll go bust! The bank are reducing our credit and we won’t be able to pay wages.”

FFP was “allegedly” put in to stop clubs going bankrupt, cue a whole host of clubs going bankrupt due to no liquidity caused by FFP.

The serious point there is that the hardship caused by the virus to clubs will shine a light on the whole nonsense of ffp ensuring clubs are 'well run'. FFP was designed to stop us and PSG, not to stop heavily indebted clubs living further beyond their means.

Heard bayern are in the running for upamecano.
Take this as good news, at the moment the media will not run with anything good at City, ie no quality players want to play for us cos we are banned.
Getting back to Bayern they may want him but have you seen anything like the Sane saga?, they are both in the same boat 1 year left on their contracts

I agree, desperate attempts to sell. Whether these will be the types of player the top teams want , I doubt it. I would of thought more likely clubs will not be able to afford 100 mil fees, with 5 yr contracts for another 70 million, pogba type transfers.,even someone like Sterling, a 150 mil commitment, who is going to be paying that type of money.
Barca, and Madrid are trying to fund ground renovation, Liverpool fund a new stand, Everton a new stadium.
City have signed two top youngsters recently, definitely the way forward. Galactico's are history ( For a while)
Most likely scenario, fortunately for us all our sales Sane excluded, are all reserves, thus we are not in the market for a Kane like player, also who ever we do sign can not play in this seasons CL and that will get played, so it is young players who can challenge the present first teamer

I saw on media outlets, including bbc, that Real are about to offload Bale. So is someone going to stump up 600 g a week for his 30 yr old services. No , just another made up story. They are actually getting more desperate.

I would be happy if he will be half the player Xavi was. Personally, I would go for Fabian Ruiz from Napoli but Aouar also looks a great player
I'd go for Brandt. Very smart and creative player who can also play on the wings. I'm always impressed by him when I watch Dortmund, been their best player by far this season. Brandt is definitely someone I can see reaching world class levels, he really reminds of a faster Iniesta when he plays in midifeld

Sancho was their best player of the season but still you are right, Btandt is just a great player. The problem is that Sancho is probably leaving for 100+ - M so they won't be so desperate for money to sell another great player. Despite the situation, I am sure United and Liverpool will improve their squad this summer. We need a successful summer to contend for the championship. In the case of CB there are some very good options and I hope we make the right decision from one of - Koulibaly, Upamecano,Skriniar . If Aouar really join us it is great but we are very dependent on Sane's replacement and new left back. I really hope Sancho will arrive but really I have no idea what left back I want to see here, except Alaba I can't think about one good LB.

In:
Upamecano
Aouar apparently (I'd rather spend money elsewhere)
Zakaria (Can play both CDM and CB, great on the ball and passing. He's also absolutely rapid and good defensively, like Wan Bissaka if he was a CDM but better going forward)
Telles
Moussa Diaby
Steffen

Out:
Silva
Gundog
Otamendi
Stones
Sané
Angelino
Zinchenko (maybe keep if he's okay with continuing as utility player)
Bravo

People may argue that Corona will make the summer transfer window more quiet. But we really needed an overhaul last summer, and now we're in desperate need of it. Our squad quality is excellent, but we need to freshen up the squad and keep players on their toes. I think we have the potential to walk home the PL and CL if we do something along the lines of what I've mentioned above.

Pep may prefer technically excellent players that lack elite physicality like himself (when he was a player), Gundogan, Rodri, Zinchenko and Stones (not so much anymore though). But this whole season has been a long dragged out example why we're in desperate need of pace and physicality all over the pitch like Liverpool, this is not the Spanish league. Upamecano, Zakaria and Diaby will provide just that

I believe a lot of gems can be found in the bundesliga. They press intensely and play with high tempo just like in the Premier league, and no player with world class potential have the bundesliga as an end destination (except maybe Bayern).
