COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I’m against the easing at this stage, I think it should have been in another three weeks. But then, I also thought we should have had a proper lockdown with only being allowed to leave the house for food and medicine for a month or so during what we’ve just been through as well (I think it’s been too light). I don’t think the R-figure is low enough for easing yet.

The way the gutter press are, they will fool people who don’t ever watch or read real news into thinking everything is back to normal and this week I think I’ll be staying in even more than I have been because every twat in the country will be out in force this week now. And the R-number isn’t low enough to forget that will happen yet.

However, the good thing Boris said there is that fines for breaking rules are going to be bigger from now on. Let’s hope they are fished out to every count who deserves it!

I’m also pleased the plan for schools is not blanket, seeing a staggered reintroduction to schools 1° first (some year groups), the rest of 1° next? He seemed to imply that some 2° schools’ year groups may not be going back until September.

One thing is though; how are people meant to get to work tomorrow with their bosses expecting them, if they use public transport to get there?

What rules?

Agree on style but what substance has she added?
She's leaked the COBRA meeting minutes to make out that she looks like she's doing more than she has.
She's also presided over a Scottish care system that allowed 73% of care homes to be infected with the virus. That's a lot more than England. But it wouldn't make much difference regardless of who's in charge. Beuracrates are beauracrates.
She also provides the video for a top quality Scotish political parody.
I thinks she's done very well with her PR image but very little else in practice.

He said if you can get to work another way don't use public transport.

Can you get to work another way?

Yes.... do so.

No... use public transport.

Ok, well why don't we just admit from the off that the vast majority of people that use public transport to get to work have no other way to get to work and actually talk about what we do about that now, rather than let the inevitable chaos ensue?

If you can drive to destinations and parks etc i don't see why not so long as once you are there you stay there
Can see me ending up getting conscripted as I’m living in the Borders to man the border in case they start driving to Scotland for a sit in our parks :)

My view would be if those working on building sites and in factories can go to work and be in close proximity to each other, we can go and visit family members.

What say the political sages of BM?
that is what I think most people want to know,i guess if family are shielding and /or in bad health then stay away, maybe over 70's as well,he could have done with being clear on that as i guess that is high in people's wish list, also can kids go between parents homes again,i guess not
boris is doing the briefing tomorrow so I expect he will be asked then

That's not what he said.

“So, work from home if you can, but you should go to work if you can’t work from home.”

So barbers would be within their rights to assume they can reopen....except the public aren't supposed to visit.

All a bit vague and wishy-washy.

Yes they are fine to start working at home, as long as they only cut hair of people that live in their household obviously.

So we are allowed to have more exercise, but it’s basically the same measures as now until June??

Should I be going back to work next week? I can and have been working from home on my laptop

very vague messaging
If you can continue to work from home, then do so. Same as before. What’s difficult about that?

She's also presided over a Scottish care system that allowed 73% of care homes to be infected with the virus. About 20% more than England.
She also provides the video for a top quality Scotish political parody.

He should tell her if she wants to have people to stay at home and be paid for by the state whilst england gets back to work she can fucking pay for it, she would soon change her tune.

AFAIK children have always been permitted to move between the homes of both parents throughout the lockdown?

It's just that a lot of parents have decided against it.

Clear and concise my arse,

Two points to start -
We need to keep R under control, at the minute were between 0.5 & 0.9 - Wtf, we have no one who can put a definite figure on it ?

Back to work if you cant work from home, guidance for employers to make workplace safe - quick search shows no such guidance available other than guidance issued 25th Feb, last update 7th April. Surely this needs to be updated.

So how on earth are those employers who aren't back at work already going to be covid safe for tomorrow.

Well fuckwit if u listen you are allowed to go to the beach, just been on sky so what's your problem.
My problem is, I wouldn't go anywhere near the fucking beach or Rutland water nice as it is, I can make my own mind up because I am alert to the danger of this virus, the Govt. can advise me all they want however, I know because I'm not fucking stupid the best way I don't infect people if I have it is to stay away from those places.

Common sense. The papers and media got ahead of themselves and this is the damp squib which was inevitable.

Nothing changes.

The real issue I have about tonight is that is something which could easily have been stated at 5pm any night of the week?

Boris made a rod for his own back turning it towards an address the nation, presidential type address.

Oh, and that's football gone this season, surely.

That's what I thought. A lot of 'may' and 'soon', but nothing needing a promoted national broadcast.

I expect a lot of people saying "what changed".

That was as clear as mud to the average prole, it will give them carte blanche to make up their own rules and take one of Boris sound bites as justification for being a twat.

Go to work if you can't work from home but try to avoid public transport if you can.

What a cluster fuck of a sentence, it reminds me of one of those adventure books I bought as a kid in 80's where every decision would direct you to a different page. People will just be making it up as they go along and hoping they've got it right but also worrying that maybe they might contract the virus or get pulled by plod and get issued with a fine.

I though Boris was commanding, reassuring and statesman like during his first address to the nation but this one is riddled with holes.

FUBAR.
