Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Reports suggest partial closure of remaining city centre roads starting with Deansgate whilst you can only wonder what the High St is going to look like in a year. All the trends that we saw are going to be massively accelerated.

To quote Richards 30 ,suggested this at the start of the CV out break.Slapped down (no construction workers),yet the Other place across the city managed to get the Safe Standing fixed.
1,500(?) safe standing barriers and seats compared to knocking down and building an entire new North Stand? Yes, I see your point.

So we got 500m from silver lake/ China? And in terms of ffp would that count in 1 years income? Or as I suspect just sit in our corporate account and we show income of 15-20m per year as income? Maybe one for Prestich blue this!?

We can use the money towards operating costs across the group and we are doing.

Which allows us to build up profits anyhow.

The old City shop replaced by a bank. I walked around town this evening and I would say about a third of the 'shops' on Market Street now are either banks, or phone shops.

Can anyone with knowledge of the area around the stadium confirm that there was a amateur football field very close to where the stadium is now? I've got memories of playing under 10's football very close to the gas works but can't but sure. Would have been about 1985.

Bit of a random question for a Thursday morning but been meaning to ask for a while.

Thanks in advance.

The nearest to where you played is Iron Street Park. It's still there. Coming away from the Stadium passing the Gas Works, over Bradford Road on to Hulme Hall Lane, Iron Street is on the left.

I went to school around there (Cambrian St & Palmerston St) and can't remember anything. The whole site used to be the steel works so can't imagine a football pitch being there.

Didnt there used to be a shale pitch between the gas works and Oldham Road, on the left, where they used to hold a fair where Brady and Hindley abducted one of their victims.
