I said he wasn't LIKELY to consider them. If he actually does neither one of us knows, and as long as they are at the table anything can happen depending how the situation develops. A quick look at their clients and there's nothing really alarming there. For a second I was worried they were going to have a list of players renowned for kicking up a fuss for transfers/ new contracts.
£40m for John Stones?!
I think we'd struggle to get £14m. People seem to be living in a fantasy world with some of our player valuations.
If Ben Chilwell is £70 mill and Maguire is £80 Mill I don't think £40 is a bad price for Stones at wheat 25?

A fully fit stones would have started this season, unfortunately pep seems to have lost faith in him. He is still a good player he just needs a fresh start.
Stones is a sick note, that's the main problem. Another thing is that Stones' wages will be preventative. Otamendi can go but we'd be stupid to look to offload both him and Stones; unless we get a silly offer but then Otamendi stays... Unfortunately. As poor as they've been this season the actual depth at centre half is what worries me more.

Of the senior first teamers at the club I'd sell the lot par Laporte, Garcia and Walker. Maybe Cancelo stays too.

our defence is a shambles and its why we have had problems - last season Vinnie came back for the last dozen or so games and really helped us out -plus teams were sitting off us more - now they have learnt that if you get at us our defense is weak
£40m is fantasy land stuff for Stones given what the market is likely to look like this summer. Can’t stay on the pitch, downward trajectory both professionally and personally since the 100 point season, and going to need a new contract that’s at least somewhat comparable to City wages. Who’s going to spend a big chunk of their limited budget on this player? I don’t necessarily disagree but I would keep Mendy around. He’s got a point to prove and despite his mistakes I think he deserves one last crack at it. Would be too big an upheval to replace all that lot in one summer. Koulibaly now and a left back to compete with Mendy.
Then next summer address right back and striker (praying for Haaland).

Nah Mendy can go. He's never going to be the player we signed and can't defend. Gundo barking at him last night for the goal and he stood there like a prat, was playing well until then too. Thanks Ben for all the fun but he's not it anymore.

I don't think we can realistically get that much business done. At best we will get one left-back, one centre-half and one forward replacement for Sane. Even that will be a struggle with player sales. If I was in dreamland I'd pick Koulibaly, Sancho and Alaba (as part of the Leroy deal) but we have to be realistic. I mean, how much money can the departures of Zinchenko, Silva, Bravo, Stones, Otamendi, Sane and Cancelo generate?

If true that there is a possibility of Alaba in the Sane deal, he’d be absolutely perfect for what we need - Mendy & Laporte both rotated with Alaba (I know he doesn’t want to play LB, but he’s definitely an option there), allowing us to sell Zin to someone who’ll play him in his best position.
That would leave just CB & AM/second striker to fill - and would leave us the budget to go big on both. Koulibaly & Havertz would be the dream - however unlikely.
