Summer Transfers

didn’t they also borrow £175m from the government due to Covid?
Yeah, bank of England, and it could be a long time before fans return to stadiums, no concerts no NFL games, can't see them getting a naming rights for the stadium with the current financial situation, so spuds will need money

Feel silly for asking this as it would be massive but is there anything at all concrete about this Kane talk or is it just wishful thinking?

We should have been all over Sven Botman.

CB, 20 years old, 6'4. Spent the season on loan at Heerenveen from Ajax. Had a very good season and was just sold to Lille for 8mil.

Would have at least been easy profit after a loan or 2.

Madrid need to sell some players.
Barcelona are obviously crumbling under their weight.
Spurs are in massive debt after the new stadium.
Napoli won't have Champions league football and they just did some expensive transfers.
Arsenal let all of their players reach the last year of their contract.
There are situations we can exploit if we are smart enough and the situation presents itself.

Precisely. Now is the time to be utterly ruthless.
For those saying wait until next summer, what prices do you think Levy and other clubs would demand for their strikers if they know Aguero has gone and we are desperate.
We can’t treat next season as a nine-month testimonial for Sergio

Have we got any goalies coming through? Bravo's contract is up, Carson loan is up, Muric's loan at Forest has been a disaster and probably sealed his fate.

I think we'll switch between 4-3-3 to 3-4-3/3-5-2 on a far more regular basis, it suits our players (even Mahrez, Sterling and Torres) who all like playing as inside forwards. Cancelo, Mendy and even Angelino are far more comfortable as wingbacks. Walker can play RCB in a three, as well as at wingback. Ake is perfect LCB, Laporte is perfect anywhere.

Your midfield 3/4 is always constant as well, it works on all fronts and gives us a wider variety of options and tactical flexibility to change games.

i get we play different formations - but Kane, Kun and Jesus dont fit together - especially when you add sterling to the mix as well.

Kane wouldnt want to be sitting on the bench which he would (and should) be if Kun was fit.
nor is he a long term solution - 3-4 years at the best with his injury record.

Just done want him and stongly believe he would struggle against the packed defences we play against.

Sounds like he might be a useful Ferna replacement if he’s still available next summer. Don’t think there’s a chance we’d sign that profile of player as a first choice centre back though

I know what your saying and Koulibaly looks that he ticks just about all the boxes, plus the press seem to think that is our only option, but we did sign Stones and he is a better player than Stones was or is, plus he is faster than any of the center backs that we have been linked with, and that high back line is never going to work without pace

Cash is king and it's very much a buyers market.

Not sure how good they are but we have several goalkeepers coming through. The main problem is going to keep them as Ederson looks like being the no 1 for years to come. It is being able to retain a goalkeeper that is happy to play as a no 2 for the next few years.
