Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

The way he operates has brought us an incredible domestic trophy haul and some of the finest football I've ever seen.

I'm up for more I know that and if it's one more year, so be it. It didn't stop us enjoying and appreciating Merlin's last season.

Let's hope so mate

So you're okay with City getting embarrassed in a global stage ?
We lost a one-off game in exceptional circumstances to a decent side, which if it had been over the regular two legs, would probably have been different. Embarrassment is losing to Shrewsbury and Halifax not losing to Lyon.

Would't swap Pep for any manager in the world. It's impossible to get everything right since no tactics or management of a game guarantees success. And many of his critics forget we have suffered from refereeing mistakes in any of the CL quarters under Pep.

I think that Pep's tactics against Lyon was too cautious and we wasted 60 minutes. However, no tactics would have guaranteed success. Had we started with 4-3-3 or some other more attacking formation, Lyon would still have at least 25% chance to progress further, or more, given the officiating. Last night Lyon created more clear cut chances than against us but scored 0. That's football. Had they scored 2 from their early chances vs Bayern, people might have understood Pep's cautious approach a bit better.

Let's hope next season is Pep's best. Why not?

What "exceptional circumstances"? we were poor and deserved and got nothing.

There are so many spoilt brats on here that cannot possibly have been City fans during the hard times. Unbelievable.

Listen you soft crybabies.
Pep is a genius. His results with City and before that speak for themselves. City will probably never get a better manager.

Pep sometimes makes mistakes. Amazing. Well guess what. The guy is human. Even a genius gets it wrong now and then.

Pep stood with and in front of us during the FFP times, which was nothing but an attempt to annihilate City from being a competitive football club. He is one of us FFS. Where is your loyalty in return?

So we lost to Lyon. Man up you twats and take it. That's what football is about. Deal graciously with defeats, learn from them, and try again.

The ‘exceptional circumstances’ of playing in a sterile environment necessitated by a global pandemic. I didn’t think we deserved to win either but we we’re not ‘embarrassed’.

The conditions were the same for both teams and for the whole sporting world is in the same position, so that's not an excuse.

The result, team selection, performance and result were embarrassing. We are far, far better than that, we had a chance to show a global audience how good we are, we blew it.

To go out like we did, in that manner was a huge let down.

Why would anyone be embarrassed. It's sport sometimes things go wrong.

Great post and well said. Although I suspect some spoilt brat will be calling you a happy clapper any minute now

Good post. Yes Pep and many of the team fucked up v Lyon but it’s gone now. Get over it and we start again in a month’s time.

Some times things do go wrong, ie Spurs last year in the Quater final, two dubious decisions.

Last Saturday was are own doing, in my humble opinion our manager messed up big time. He showed an average French side far too much respect. He has created a wonderful attacking team for us but we have a weak and fragile defence. I would rather have gone out all guns blazing with our best players on the pitch and not sat on their arses on the bench.

We played Norwich away early in the season, a horrendous defeat, Rodri and Gundo together, which simply does not work when playing teams that hit you on the counter. Pep never learnt from that match. We had Bernardo and Foden sat on the bench, players with pace, energy and considerable ability, in my opinion, crazy.

Yes, none of which I'm embarassed about.

No one is talking about why pep of all the manager went for cautious line up .
He has zero trust on defenders and that is a must fix this window.

Not just pep but the players also, when we had vinny the players went on with the game knowing there was a rock at the back, these days you see kdb running back to help the team break down an opposition attack.
