Wanting to come to the premier league at 33 shows his mental strength. Can't imagine how motivated he must be to shut all the critics, I think we might be seeing his best.

Going to get ugly
How come this is all played out in the media? Soap opera. That just makes it more difficult for people to back down, because they are seen to back down. Better I think for the Barca board to get some dignity and get the best possible deal from City. Going into a conflict with Messi does not sound like a good idea.

Barca just wanting to blame Messi for leaving.

He now needs to make it known to the world its his decision & Barca need to honour his wishes.

He owes fuckall to them but now it seems its going to be a fight in court.

Wouldnt suprise me if Uefa, Tebas & all are saying fuck City dont make it easy for them?

bottom line is this messi still under contract and city can not make a official approach with messi
messi has to honor his contract until barca say otherwise and messi does not really have a leg to stand on with the word of mouth promised by barca that he can walk away with a year left on his deal ??

sadly barca can hold out and messi has to jump ? but why would you keep a player not happy and not playing and paying him close to a £1million a week ? we also know barca are in a mess and need money and quick, also the need for new players with a ageing squad, so keep a unhappy messi cost them close to 100 million euros money they don't have

so like i said barca hold all the cards but are bluffing because its them that want messi out because they are skint
Barca hold is registration but once the player is firmly committed on an exit it gets very dfficult to see how they can maintain that position.

If things go to plan , some will by the the time we play our 2nd home game.

Really?
I wish I shared your optimism
I dont have any faith in this government anymore they have handled things appallingly recently.
I'm not expecting to get back to the ground until 2021 22 season.

There is a feeling that attending training sessions ahead of the 2020-21 season could have a legal impact on his claim that he has already unilaterally ended his contractual relationship with Barca

We don't want that because the reports I've read suggest it's not a clear cut case. Hopefully the prospect of losing the player for nothing forces the Barcelona board to compromise and accept his exit

So can someone clarify something please? If Barcelona don't budge, is Messi's plan just to sign a contract with City and say that he validly and legally terminated his Barcelona contract prior with the burofax?

I think he would have to buy his last year out, this webster ruling which of course we would be funding.

But wouldn't that only be if he backs out of the termination? Surely if he thinks he's within his rights to terminate then he can do that? Or is it a case of avoiding the legal stuff that'd probably follow if he did that?

If he believes he’s out of contract, he doesn’t need to buy himself out but leaves himself (and the club he signs for) open to legal action. First Spanish courts then CAS on appeal.

FIFA however would grant his transfer of registration in the meantime. But it’s a big risk for City.

We are discussing tweets here without any real knowledge of what the actual situation is between all 3 parties.

My opinion is this is all agreed between the 3 for all intents and purposes and we are seeing a pantomime being played out to appease a Barca membership and Bart who wants to be seen as tough, doing all he can to keep Messi and in the end, driving as best a deal as he could blah blah blah.

I dont see this ending in the courts and i dont see us getting involved if we thought that was the case imo.

I know fuck all though, tweets aside and titbits from Tolm?
