He has, at times, been absolutely superb for us. I hope that his injury and personal problems are at an end and that we give him a chance to become the player he has the potential of being. Even Vinnie called him the finest defender he has played with.
 
Clearly Stones doesn‘t want to go or his agent would be working to get him in another club. Not hearing anything from his agent.
Have a fancy that he will just sit there taking the money... and become a “stick” for the press to beat us with.
 
I think he will be hard to sell or loan due to his wages, fitness doubts, and ability.
No offers as yet from those clubs supposedly interested which I think was bullshit .

I see what you are saying. Not comparing them overall. Merely, the possibility of him not wanting to leave and just being happy to sit and collect a cheque.

I have no problem with that in all honesty. Its a job, we as fans need at times to see it like that more with most players. he has to do what is best for him and his family.

I would question more the people who award such wages as have they done their homework on a player fully. But also things change very quickly and can do again
 
I think Stones blames the high back line for his injuries and so wants to play in a more orthodox back four, that is not going to happen while Pep is here, now it is just a case of a team with enough prestige, so he can hold onto his England spot putting a bid in for him. if it happens it happens.

I hear you. Personally, if i was given the opportunity to play football for money I would want to play not just train and watch my team play the matches.

That said, maybe he does and just isn't being given the opportunity.
 
Not many news on him leaving this week, same with Otamendi. We need to start selling soon.
 
If Stones is happy to be part of the squad, I’d keep him. His stock isn’t the highest at the moment and he could easily settle back in to some good form. One player we should absolutely be getting rid of is Otamendi, who is a complete liability in this setup.
