nope he was lifted. Messi is meeting with his dad and their legal team who are making a statement shortly.

Not arrested, though effectively charged with potential “economic crimes” (corruption) by Catalan police (report of preliminary investigation findings given to the court presiding over the “barcagate” case).

There is awhile yet before any actual direct action would be taken.

It’s not a particularly good situation for Bartomeu, and in an ideal world it would see him resign, but Fútbol Club Barcelona is far removed from an ideal world, as evidenced by the last few weeks.

It may help expedite proceedings with Messi, though, only time will tell.

Bartomeu’s tactics vs Messi amounted to “It would be a shame if Barcelona went against you in court, dirtied your legacy and possibly ruined your next club…"

Messi wasn’t willing to go as far as he should have to beat Bartomeu and leave. If he had a half decent agent, would have left easily.
