You don’t think khaldoon was on about koulibaly do you he was talking about the potential messi transfer I mean I thought everyone knew that . And no I don’t believe in everything that the media says because Utd would have signed everyone if that was true . As for empty rumours how do you really know that they were ? As for the Dias thread I agree until he is signed it’s not 100 percent done so I’ll give you that one .

Indeed,he doesnt deserve abuse,however,i'm made up we won't have to suffer his defensive brain farts any longer....i might even have some finger nails left from now on.
 
All the other players we got from Benfica seem pretty good, so let's have some optimism about this one.

Would actually be hilarious if this somehow fell through due to the Otamendi part of the deal, would make his gesture wasted.

I’ll support him when he’s a blue but having watched him a few times I’m genuinely shocked we’ve bought him when it’s clear he was 4th choice at best. Seems we have simply gone for the cheapest option.

Just feels so underwhelming going from KK/Kounde/Gimenez to this guy. What started out as a really exciting window has ended with me thoroughly deflated.

Very selective to blame the defence for that when our attackers missed a host of opportunities in those games, but I guess if you have a narrative to push then you have to pick the part of the team you want to blame.

How did CB's cause our CL fuck up last season? Walker messed up one, and ederson another. I dont think CBs were the problem in the Lyon game as much as individual mistakes.

I really like Otamendi but it was a awful transfer.

We did the transfer as a favour to Mendes and because Valencia owed us money. He was the 4th most expensive defender in history, and he was bought for a side who played under Pellegrini, and planned to play under Guardiola, a very high defensive line - his one major weakness as a defender because he's got no pace. He's also not very good on the ball, and is prone to making rash challenges and taking himself out of the game, something which drove Pep so mad he actually spoke out about how frustrating it was in 2017 that he wouldn't learn.

He has been a good servant to the club, Pep always talks up how he plays through any knocks or injuries, and gives 100%. He seems like a very popular bloke in the dressing room, never causes any trouble off the pitch etc. and eventually when we protected him enough with very fast players all around him, he did well enough to get in the TOTY.

That doesn't change the fact we should never have bought him.

If we're back in 2 years because he's just like Stones, heads need to roll in the transfer department.

It's been 7 years since Mangala was bought to play when Kompany was always injured, and the best we've managed is about 6 months of Stones looking up to it. The last time we did a deal to help out Mendes it was Otamendi, who gave 100% but was a god awful transfer for a side who knew they were about to bring in the manager with the highest line in world football. It just can't go on, they're out of chances to fuck up.

Transfers are hit and miss. We have won a lot of trophies with the crap Otamendi. You can’t separate the club. Txiki, Kaldoon, Soriano, Pep will all be involved in transfers.

You can’t pick and choose who is to blame. We have got a lot of transfers right so who gets the credit? All the above mentioned act as a transfer team and will succeed or fail together.

Ungrateful and a stupid post.

Quite apart from the fact we lost because Laporte and Garcia passed them the ball, the whole 5 at the back bollocks formation was Pep being so scared the defence would be destroyed that he tried to protect them with extra numbers.
