Leicester City (H) Post Match Thread

Been thinking about the 3 penalties all very similar in as much as the forward got passed a defender than sort of ran across the defender. Not much the defender could do and clear play by the forwards. But not 100% Sterling or co would have been rewarded.
Still doesnt explain a poor performance.

Right I’m fuckin sick of it, all these same teams cause us the same problems and he never does a thing to address it
We were one up after a few minutes so we’re winning 1-0
Why charge forward again for another leaving acres of space behind v a dangerous fast counter attack side
Once we get that goal why do we not just knock it around the back AND MAKE them come out leaving room for our own strikers

It’s fuckin madness

Spot on. Ive only ever seen us do that once. Against Crystal Palace at home a few years ago over the xmas period. Think Pellers was manager? 1-0 up and we spent the second half just passing it across the back. Palace would not change their game plan. seem to remember Kompany standing with the ball at his feet for ages. We should do more of this. We have the goal to hold!

I think the last one Michael Oliver was asked to check again, as indicated by SKY at the time, it looks like he refused as he doesn't do clear and obvious errors

its an embarrassment saga serious, the following day. just to think, we got smashed 5-2 by Leicester. And at home... let that sink in.

Think Garca was at fault for the 3 goals. Madison didn't close down quick, same with the Kyle Walker penalty, just backed off allowing for the pass into vardy, then a clumsy challenge.

but anyhow Pep sees it differently
He broke the cardinal rule for Madison's goal, giving him time to get his head and view the shot - he was too busy getting his arms out of the way. Slow thinker Imo

100% Sterling would have been booked for at least two of the dives and thus sent off, remember klanfield last season? That wanker Terrence Trent Arsehole upended Sterling in the second half and cuntface Oliver booked Sterling. For over a decade we have been playing the cartel referees, more often than not we have come out on top but they have made it hard and have no signs of easing off.

Rodri said the exact same thing post match. I feel we're too naive against negative sides. We played right into their hands yesterday.
Totally agree, at 1-0 they have got to com e out sometime. You would have thought it was us who were 1-0 down the way we continued to play.We need to manage games better, lack of a leader on the pitch also doesn’t help. We need to inject pace into the centre of the field but the issue is that most of the athletic players around are not good enough on the ball for Pep,this is the reason why Pep has never trusted Walker to play CB. The positive is it is early days & the last 2 times we won the league we dropped points in our second game.

This is what Pep was saying, more patience just pass the ball for 90 mins they will have to come get it, at one point Vardy was 25 yards from his own goal, just pass along our back line, they are behind fuck them on tv if they think it’s boring let the parked bus teams come try and get it.

If that game had not fallen in the aftermath of last season's finish, I'd have said it was a total freak.

No forwards. Ridiculous individual errors and a cynical team that was expert at taking advantage of the slightest contact.

Really do not know whether City are decaying or whether it's a complete one-off. I understand why we struggled offensively but the defensive side of our game has been a problem for a long time.

OK when you're 1-0 up.

THe pens were a joke.
Run towards ball. kick defender. fall over.

There's a lot written about the back four but the midfield are so fucking culpable as well. We need legs in the middle, we are slow and passive, Rodri is meh to me, good on the ball but he's so slow that he's almost took out of the game any time an opposition midfielder runs with the ball.

We were open with the long punt in behind all day yesterday, we didn't adapt to it at all. Mendy just can't cut it any more either, he's physically spent.

When it comes to Garcia Pep is showing his bias picking him when he stated when he came he only wants players who are committed! Sorry once Garcia says he ain’t staying and said it a few times he should be no where near our first team! Look at Tosin not even giving a chance with our defence.

Watched the match again this morning. The amount of times walker had to cover garcia was ridiculous. Yes he gave the pen away but he got played by vardy, who is brilliant at winning pens. Again though garcia was out of position and walker wouldn't have been on the wrong side. Garcia never closed maddison down for his goal. Then he gave the other pen as well. Ake was superb for me. He played his own position well and covered rcb, lb and helped engage in midfield to cover rodri. Mendy, well, mendy is finished at the top level. I feel for him. Those injuries have killed his pace. He can't defend well and now he can't attack well either, he's also lost pace. We have players like zinchenko & gundogan who don't play in their preferred positions and are bang average when they fill in at cdm/lb. Get f@cking rid and bring in players for the positions these 2 fill in for.

In summary we got smashed last night because walker and ake had to cover other players positions. Now dias fixes some of these problems hopefully (not seen anything of him, just going off other posters) but we really need a lb. If there is any money left we need a mobile cdm. Someone like Douglas Luiz who knows our system and is relatively cheap.

Finally, I know this will piss off a few, as he gets protected like he's a 16 y/o academy product from burnage who bleeds blue by some. But sell mahrez, yes he creates and scores but as soon as he does he puts his slippers on and cruises. He never takes the game by the scruff of the neck and drags the team through bad periods. Foden has more out put in his unprefered position than mahrez in his comfort zone. He's a f@nny, he's selfish, its all about him/his stats which is fine in a team like Leicester or scum. In ours he's a cog, we play as a team, not galaticos!!!

Manrez made a token effort tackle just before the ball was passed into the box for Vary's first dive it what sold Walker

No drive. No enthusiasm.
"We've won loads, so take it easy, boys". Is that it?
Pep lost.
