Just checked the app and the alert status now is inline with the tiers although a number isn't mentioned it does describe the alert level as high. I think it said that yesterday also but the other wording is different

My interpretation is that Burnham is trying to get a better financial aid package from the government for going into tier 3.

His arguing for a national approach would mean that all areas got the same financial package ie coordinated and consistent.

Given that has been ruled out (for now), he has returned to trying to get as much money to tide over small businesses as possible.

I could be wrong though.

You’re correct.

His language , i am afraid will just make locals revolt
Burnham is starting to play to the crowd now. I think politicians from all parties have let us down badly. It's a failure of our systems and infrastructure. He is right about localising track and trace though. Public health experts have been saying his since March.
To be honest Tier 3 or a nationwide circuit breaker are much the same. What happens if the circuit breaker doesn't work after two weeks for example. The only way out of this is to sort the testing and tracing or a vaccine. I am ashamed of the way this country has handled this crisis.

In what way? I thought he spoke clearly and concisely whilst informing us of his position to be willing to accept 80%.
I just saw the last bit and he seems to be telling locals to resist any measures if brought in , perhaps he would have been better concentrating on the message that he insists on a better financial package and then he would accept tier three he has flipped flopped this week

The Gov UK Covid site has undergone an experimental makeover whih is actually quite neat. Assuming it does not crash again by over reaching.

The postcode zoom on the cases map lets you see your own house now and tells you what has been going on around there over the week with % up and down movements.

Also easier to spot out streets near you to avoid!

The other data has more stats too on things like hospital numbers.

Perhaps they have finally employed someone who knows what they are doing.

Cue another big crash!

There will have to be a resolution soon, so I doubt there will be time for revolt.

Hopefully the figures plateau soon anyway. I think schools and unis have caused the majority of this spike. If it is that, then hopefully we will see a natural decline in cases.

The circuit breaker would have been perfect for that a couple of weeks back.
