As someone who has been compliant I blame our feckless government and the twats breaking the rules equally.
The government haven't been great, but for me anyway, it is the public who are deliberately flaunting the rules who are causing the most grief we are all having to suffer.

Until there are some real changes in attitudes from these fuckwits, no Government will beat this pandemic.

This last year has shown how many selfish twats exist amongst us.

Most people followed the rules and behaved impecably during lockdown, then the government lies and let offs for mates came to light, followed by a half arsed lockdown easing stratergy to confusing messages and rushing to reopen to stop the moaning/presure from donors

After that they have lost control and too many are no longer listening to them.

The publics arsing about has risen since June vastly when a botched lockdown was fully revealed and was followed with a botched and chaotic reopening of the country.

So yeah I blame the government, as much as those ignoring them.

is working from home affecting anyone yet? I know I am lucky that I am able to and have a job, but I’ve done bugger all this week. My motivation is at an all time low
I sympathize with people who are working from home but keep your chin up, at least you're not sharing an office with people who literally couldnt give a fuck and struggle to wash their hands after having a piss nevermind because of a "cold"

Felt uneasy but it was a client lunch , already booked. Easy to say on here that you would have walked away, but when it’s work related I didn’t.

What if the client also reluctently stayed thinking he had to but also "if this twats gonna put me in such a dangerous situation I won't be doing business with him" afterwards ;-)

Not saying the Government are blameless but two wrongs dont make a right. Today, it is the deliberate non compliant public causing the increase in infection and what that brings. People moaning that the tier system isn't working - it never will whilst we have fucking selfish bastards not giving one.

These people know exactly what they are doing, but they simply dont give a shit for the millions upon millions doing their best.

I think we have to give the pastie with chips plan a few more weeks before we declare full on fuckwittery by the govt.

Almost impossible to wipe the virus out in the Summer months, and now environmental factors have moved in its favour it's bounced back. We end up in the same place, it just takes 4 more weeks because the curve is horizontally translated. See Scotland and Northern Ireland. They had all but wiped it out in the Summer. Their cases numbers were close to single digits in the Summer. We couldn't do a New Zealand and even if we did it, we'd only import it again.

Yeah this, plenty in my work don't wear masks in communal areas until told, ignore distancing and had one idiot come in with a sympton when clear the instruction is don't , phone in and get a test (they did, negative thankfully)

So full lockdown then or go chinese stye lockdown and weld the wankers into their flats.

Even our enforcement is piss poor on the tiers, police don't have the resources and councils the money.

It all comes from what seems to be a stratergy thought up daily by the clowns in westminster.

Here's one way to see what's really happening:

Slovakia’s government announced on Tuesday details regarding the country’s plan to test the entire population for coronavirus which is now set to take place from early to late Saturday, meaning it will not last for three days as was originally announced.

Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 or does not test at all, will have to isolate for 10 days, together with those living in the same household.

This huge logistical operation, equivalent to organising an election, places a huge responsibility and burden on local authorities. The assistance of the army, necessary healthcare personnel and volunteers is also required.

Ours only just decided to move the desks further apart last week. Doesnt make a difference though, no windows open, people ignoring the distancing, saw one person using 4 different desks the other day not even wiping them down (That could literally wipe out the entire department) and even though we are tier 3 they all go in the same car to pick up food or go shopping on dinner. Bizarre. Luckily (well not really) I refuse to be in close contact with my family (because of work) so only putting my partner at risk but not fair if shes got to isolate for two weeks because people dont care at work.

Im not defending Harding etc but most european countries must have a similar person and government in charge as they all seem to be experiencing a huge second surge like we are??
That’s because this is a virus, not a tap we can turn off when we want.

The most competent task force, doing all the most competent things at the most competent times, could have as little impact on a virus as incompetent fools.

The level of fuckwittery in this country i find astounding.
Had to go to A&E yesterday at Oldham and some stupid woman who proceeded to lower her mask when on her phone. Personally I'd like to have her committed there n then.
They should be made to work front line NHS, for free

Have to disagree with you. People know the dangers and what and what isn't acceptable. The Government can take them to the water, but cannot make them drink it.

These are adults knowingly being non compliant and it needs serious consequences introduced.

Nobody wants their liberty's taken away, but the selfish few will ensure the majority suffer because of their attitude.

Full lockdown is where we are heading unfortunately, but it wont be the Governments at fault

Elsewhere in Europe, how's Sweden doing? (Especially if herd immunity is a nonsense if immunity fades.)

In September, Dr. Anders Tegnell, the Public Health Agency epidemiologist in charge of the country’s COVID-19 response reiterated the party line that a growing death count did “not mean that the strategy itself has gone wrong.”

Compare Sweden with the other Scandi countries:
Deaths per 100,000 people (data are from Oct. 13)
Norway 5.9
Finland 6.24
Denmark 11.58
Sweden 58.36

Apart from the example set by Cummings, and Johnson not sacking him. That started the rot on public compliance.
