Everton (A) | Game Postponed

From what I’ve read, the new variant is thought to be up to 70% more transmissible.
Maybe the national government and FA guidelines (designed for the original covid-19’s level of transmissibility and even then only designed to keep numbers down / not to prevent all transmission) simply aren’t up to keeping on top of what we’re all dealing with / dying from?

I’m just surprised this hasn’t happened sooner or to more clubs.
Since premier league clubs have had regular testing the precautions have gone to shit, us included.
No spitting, handshakes and hugging to name a few are all common place in all games I’ve seen, all of which were not allowed last season, but because they get tested regularly now the simple precautions go out of the window.
Premier league don’t give a shit as long as they’re getting the cash.
They want the season to continue then they should reintroduce the safety measures to try to keep everyone safe as possible.
Though teams travelling from tier 2-3 to tier 4 was never a good idea, asking for trouble.

According to the plastic Scousers on RAWK and Irish rags on Twitter we have bribed the Premier League to get it called off

totally ignoring the fact that we were playing Everton at the perfect time so ultimately it will probably work against us being postponed

The point is our staff would have passed it on to Everton staff but the fucking thicko twatter journo knobs wouldn't grasp that.
And the coach driver, and any admin/medical staff in their ground - and then they’d take it home to their families and so on and so on...

But oh wait, some fat bald scouse **** with 30 years of riding cock experience on Twitter thinks we are ‘persuading the authorities to avoid playing Everton’. You could not make it up.

Everton fan here (again).

I'm rather relieved we aren't playing.

Our lads get a chance to recover properly for West Ham on Friday (West Ham also have Southampton away tomorrow). We will also have James and Richarlison back.

Our rearranged match should also be when we have the likes of Digne and Allan back, so there is a possibility we will be back to full strength.

We also don't have Europe to contend with, so a midweek fixture later in the season shouldn't be an issue for us.

Sunds bad. Where did you read that?

I’m merely pointing out the media's differing reactions to the spread of the pandemic in different areas of the country.

Blaming us and our behaviour, when it was spreading rapidly up here.

People in the London area must be breaking social distancing and hygiene guidelines for the disea

At a lower level I see that Rochdale have had their next 2 games postponed this afternoon. Thats on top of Sunderland who haven't played since mid-December. We can't be far off a season suspension now surely?

And now Morecambe have done the same. Going to get ridiculous pretty quickly at this rate.

I take it that the players and staff have now taken the virus back to their families.
You cant play football in tier 4 we cant do anything in tier 4 but just hope when we go to work or food shop we stay safe. But it's safe to play football bloody greedy money grabbing football .

playing them with the the injuries that they had gave us an advantage which we have now lost. However somethings are more important than football so absolutely the right thing to do.

This season is a farce already and will be qucikly forgotten by the vast majority of teams no matter how it pans out.....football without fans is pretty stale
