Political relations between UK-EU

Your obsession with this thread you daft pillock. You try to use NI and pretty much anything else in the world as an argument against Brexit. Why you let this rule your life god only knows but it’s very weird mate. You say things like “it just amuses me all this” followed by things like “ I find it hard to stomach” . It appears you try to act all apathetic like you are just passing time on a forum but you let your mask slip.

It’s seems to bother you very much and you may have some personal reason for it but obsessed you absolutely are.

I think if @Ric closed this thread and found a way to not let it spread elsewhere he would be doing everyone’s mental health a lot of good.

That would be the thread you also habitually post in?

It‘s a discussion forum. I discuss. The end.

We were ALL told the affects would be instant, day one, total chaos. We're one week in and nothing has happened. No economic crash, no pound devalued to less than its competitors. I'm more concerned about the fact the Spam is going to spoil due to it no longer being required. Anyone know the shelf life of 2,000 tins of Spam?

Ah ok, well if your point is that a lot of bollocks has been spoken by everyone throughout, then yes, I agree. I was just trying not to add to it.

In fairness, you kind of were. :/

Those who see brexit as doom laden will always see it as doom laden, and those who see nothing but positivity will always see positivity. I'm judging based on what happens, and there's nothing for me to get worked up about.

This virus is taking much more of my attention.

Haha really you are going to try that one? You can’t see the difference . Anyhow maybe you are unaware so as I’m off this week and with the virus I’m a tad bored I will try and point you in the right direction. Give me a couple of mins if you don’t mind.

How so, are you saying pointing out a generalisation isn’t true for everyone is the same as pointing out a generalisation...?

So I’m not someone where it doesn’t affect my daily life so I can’t really speak for them on that or what their reasons for wanting to remain were - as they differ as much as people’s reasons for wanting to leave did.

I’d argue at the moment we’re only six days in though, my point was that saying nothings changed now isn’t true for everyone. Any impacts currently were only ever going to be felt by people in jobs like mine though where there’s a clear and immediate significant difference in ways of working.
Just gotten back from Morrisons - what a relief

I had a shopping list that had what was needed and 3 levels of contingencies/alternatives - in the expectation that the shelves would be empty - as promised.

Just joking - but seriously, of course there is going to be a need for companies to adapt to new processes etc. - we have been in the EU for 40+ years

That there is a need for business change is not really the issue that we Leavers are pointing out.

We were promised that there would be chaos and that the country would grind to a halt - that there would be panic and widespread dissatisfaction.

Companies having to sensibly adapt their business processes is not really the apocalyse that was forecast is it

Yeah like I said, there has been a lot of bollocks spoken throughout. Was just making the point that away from the generalisations, there has been significant change for a lot of people already, as there always was going to be. It will be apocalyptical for some businesses. Some may also thrive from it, that won’t be on the minds of those in the former category though right now.

Mate got an import duty bill for £107 earlier for a jacket. It will be a gradual build up of those little frustrations that see us going back begging for more and more of what we had.
Wow

If only Leave voters had known that could happen......

Your mate sounds like he has expensive tastes;-)

I would guess though - rather than us going back and begging - we will just get more informed and careful in our shopping habits

No, i'm saying the hyperbolic narrative of doom isn't helpful to debate, if your position is supposedly one of not adding more bollocks to it, especially when there is nothing to warrant such opinion.

Ah. I was essentially making the same point then, given I agree it isn’t helpful to debate in generalisations too, be it a narrative of doom or rosy gardens.

The good news just keeps rolling in...

Knock yourself out.

Let’s see what has happened in the world recently

World pandemic many deaths life currently shit and unknown future
Brexit(you may have heard of that one)
The shenanigans of the quite barking Donald Trump
City being poor
City getting better
The passing of the great Colin Bell
The state of our enviroment
Racism rife
jesy leaving Little Mix
And let’s face it a whole lot more

Your last 300 posts 276 of them have been about Brexit, of those remaining posts many were you bringing Brexit into that thread. In your defence the one post out of the whole 300 about footy you might not have done(I didn’t read it)

Now if that is not an obsession I don’t know what is fella.

We all know the answer to this

I am Bob I’m a remainerholic I haven’t been in the brexit thread for 1 day.

You can do it mate, and to help from this day forth I shall agree with your views whenever you slip.

I urge the few leavers left to do the same and I will start

Bob was right Brexit is shit what the fuck have we done?

I can’t believe I wasted 24 posts...

This is of course just desperately wishful thinking - IMO - likely borne out of frustration that 'all of a sudden - nothing happened'

After years of promising an apocalypse, I can understand that it must be very frustrating that the vast majority of the population are not hearing or thinking about 'shitshow' outcomes from Brexit and it is quickly receding into the 'so what' category.

The point was ..... we are only 3 days into Brexit proper.... where are the sunny uplands?.... Does Johnson know which NHS Bank Account to pay the £350 million into?

I would have preferred Merkel’s approach, cool, but polite. Not dissimilar to her approach to Johnson come to think of it.

But, no we had to rush over there, taking the knee and gushing at how wonderful Trump was and how great he would be for Brexit Britain. Gove slobbered over him, Rees-Mogg ditto. Johnson wouldn’t even back our own Ambassador over Trump. Pathetic doesn’t even cover it. They wanted to bask in his reflected ‘glory’ and Trump’s ‘lie big, lie often’ approach was a natural fit for Johnson. As was Trump’s incompetence.

We have to be honest .... they fawned over Trump because he makes Johnson look good. However in 14 days time , the UK will officially have the worse leader and the worse government in the Western World.

Just a gentle reminder that the ''Stock Exchange'' is not the ''Economy''
The FTSE 100 is also considered a good indicator of the health of the UK and international economy (because it comprises both domestic and international companies).

Of course it isn’t but it gives a good indication of how strong the economy is.
