Villa (H) Post Match Thread

Even though it was a perfectly legit goal ? behave. we would be mad at the defender for fucking about but not about the goal.

Then the law is bollocks, and yes this board would have been full of people going off their tits about it.

Kid yourself otherwise if you must.

I disagree, Villa defended resolutely and took the game to us at times.

but there main aim was to try and nick the game on the break ? yes defended well at times but city could and maybe should have had 3 goals in the first half. city had to work hard for the win and that in itself says villa was setup to park the bus and break ??

also the pitch was a game changer and very heavy and city could not find our normal game and it played into villa hands. it was advantage to villa because city played 4 games in a short space of time villa none

i don't like to give credit to a losing team ? villa will bemoan the 2 goals anyway but the truth is city had 28 chances
and major part of the game was in the villa half ?

On 'another day' that McGinn shot goes in and Dias puts into his own net. On another, 'another day' we score anything between five and ten goals. City much the better team tonight and the goals came from a couple of our many match-winners. Like I said before, Villa only have Grealish and most of their dangerous play tonight started or went through him. Take him out of the team and they're just Palace with a different coloured top.

It shows how shit and biased the pundits are when they don't know the rules and when it is explained to them they still won't admit that they had it wrong. If you can't separate yourself from your club allegiances then you shouldn't have the job. Fair play to Robbie Savage who accepted the explanation. My favourite post on here tonight was way back regarding Rio's final bleating about players not knowing the rules, "Rodri knew them".

Even if Rodri was 50 yards offside and we got the decision, wrongly given, I’d still be chuffed to fuck, finally we got one ....
Why are some blues on here giving an actual fuck and disagreeing with the decision based on the rules of the game??? This doesn’t sit well with me at all .... We won, we scored two good goals and went top of the league ... Job done, on we go to the next one ...!!!

He's the moron's favourite moron. Rio Ferdinand is a moron. Every other broadcast he just makes an ass of himself with his ignorance.
I listened to that rant about the first goal and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. The offside rule was explained to him and he still wouldn’t let it go. He made an even bigger dick of himself than he did in the pregame talking about Kev. He is a complete tool.

Salty tears from CamelGob, he's been read the rules and had it explained but still thinks it's a terrible decision. Ex-Ref would've disallowed the first goal if he was reffing but then after reading the rules understands that it's a goal. And we wonder why we're often shafted by the refs.

Anyway, tough win, missed a bag full of scrambled efforts, eventually the pressure we applied paid off.

We found out that Villa are a bunch of snide divers and wingers and that Grealish can't be carded.

Happy days.

Could do with a smoke after that but my supply lines have dried up. :(:
Cant believe they (or paying customers) pay money to that Walton. He is a joke every game

It’s not Rodri’s fault at all.

But Mings should be fully entitled to turn towards his own goal without interference from an offside player.

The moment Rodri prevents Mings from doing so he is interfering with play.
Sorry mate but that’s rubbish. It’s not Rhodris fault that he’d chased a through ball and that Ming decided to turn towards him, if Mings doesn’t know the rules then he’s an idiot.

How strong is our Phil now ?

Sure he is an exceptional talent, one of best players, destined for greatness.

I have seen him out muscling some big powerful opposition players lately.

You think back to the young lad who was knocked off the Ball.

Them days are gone.

He is is going to be the backbone of the England team one day.

can i add that city last season lost out in the champions league to a goal that was pretty much in the same sort of thing ? when a player was offside blocking a city player but he jump and open his legs letting the ball run on for them to score ??? BT-sports panel never once backed Manchester city in saying it should be given as offside

Doesn't mean it right. But on the other hand, what's the better way? I don't know. So we should accept it until having a better way.

On another thought, actually, people only make effort to make rules better when there's a lot of complaints, so... complain or not, it's all good!
It was a good goal. Mings had two choices. He could have cleared the ball or he could have let Rodri play it first (ruling him offside). He made the worst decision: he chested it down and then kicked it, playing Rodri onside. How many times have you seen a defender miscontrol a pass and let it run to an attacking player who scores. FFS it's a goal all day long. This has always been the rule.
