They had attempts on goal there only "moments", which was more than Grealish did.

I suppose I was quite impressed with the leadership role he has taken within the Villa team. He is only 25 and was leading by example. That's the last I am going to say on the subject. :)

I have to say, I thought Grealish was pretty outstanding. Clearly a few attitude issues there but what are people's thoughts?

Did he create anything or even put a worthwhile cross into our penalty area ? He's a show pony , looks good on the ball but invariably is ineffective.

You were watching a different game to me , "plenty " of opportunities , i can count them one hand and i dont think Grealish created any of them. Watkins and Traore had their moments and Barkley had a couple of tame shots and that was it , 8-2 would have been a fair score on decent chances created.

From what I can see, every fanbase (or the more irrational part of it) seems to think there’s an agenda against their club and the competition is rigged to ensure they fail

We often have a good case, they had NO case whatsoever. The laws of the game says Rodri was onside. The handball was as clear as day, idiotic by the Villa player.

It was not too long ago when the ref's had an agenda giving everything to the rags.

Of course they do. Different shades and different subjects but largely the same paranoia. I know quite a few Leeds fans. They are utterly convinced, like they take it as a given and can’t understand anyone doubting it, that both the FA and the media hate them. Mid ranking premier league teams go crazy that the “big four” or whatever get all the coverage. Championship teams are convinced that they get ignored because of the premier league etc.

Real or imagined communal enemies are part of what makes a football fan tick.

Absolutely! My only regret is they didn't go down last season, aided by a goal that wasn't allowed when it was a clear goal. Funny I don't hear them crying about that. I hate the fuckers after Wembley and snidey dirty Grealish and cry baby Smith, both being Villa fans, sums them up.

I have actually got to the point where I think having a penalty means nothing. My Dad text me to say just let the German take it :D

If only our forward players would remember that taking a shot in a match situation is different than in practice. The dummies in front of them in a game will move to block a shot whereas those in practice will remain stationary.
