Those figures are appallingly low. It basically stands as a simple guide to the % of morons a country contains. I'm pleasantly surprised to see the UK is one of the best.

Agree, but rising which is important too. Hopefully a continuing trend. Particularly when positive results (from the vaccine) start being noticed in other countries, it'll hopefully encourage more people in the right direction.

Excellent point. My parents in mid-80s have now had both jabs but they're not going anywhere (all food delivered, church closed etc); all they want is to see children and grandchildren and they're not able to.

Mrs Unicorn and me in mid-50s just want to get back to pubs, gigs and City. Can't see any of those being available for a long while after our first jab.
A 'long while'. I think about what means a lot too but all we have is a general impression that the effects of vaccination will start to have a growing effect and increasingly drive down the R rate.

Oh we most certainly have a lot of morons, but the one thing we are lucky to have in this country is the NHS. I'd guess that'd help with the trust in vaccines. Lot of pride in it, especially given it's world famous too. We're quite proud of our health care in this country, even the morons are!

AGree totally about that. If people see one country extricating itself from this, then they will copy it.

I am totally convinced vaccines will solve this but then again it will only work if everyone else feels the same way. So far vaccine uptake feels like it's very good.

That's what I was thinking was a likely cause. They've seen what can happen when it runs wild, and that there are very few side-effects.

I can only assume that it means the UK morons are more attuned to our government than European morons are to their own.

Merkel isn’t going to help those figures improve by opening talks with Russia on the Sputnik vaccine for Europe - not a chance I’m taking that

No discernible change in pattern.

Of course, compliance of people walking in parks <2m apart and house parties is what's the cause of the spread.

Not keeping premium air travel to luxury winter holiday destinations open. Oh no.

London/Dubai is now the busiest flight route *in the world* . All essential travel, natch.

This govt attempt to shift narrative on to individual compliance is a joke. Don't fall for their lies.

Total deaths for UK - with out of hospital in England only to add is:- 1143, Suggesting we will be up around 1400/1500 total today. Anything more will be more excessive out of hospital deaths in England as we saw midweek when over 600 were added.

It was 980 last week versus 1143 today and all settings then became 1280. With 300 out of hospital add ons from England.

Sturgeon seems quite welcoming of this £500 suggestion to people who test positive. I can see what they're trying to do, and can understand the benefits, but I still have major concerns that people will use this to try and get themselves infected or at the very least become complacent. Potential to backfire hugely has it not?
So long as there is an equally big stick for remaining isolated then it should be OK.
In fact getting infected people isolated is as big a desire as getting older people and at risk people vaccinated. Both will reduce the infection rate.

The R number dropping is expected but boy it is nice to read, those who say lockdowns dont work and such like bollocks are wrong

Where do we go next ? I am dreading todays numbers of admissions and deaths , yes i know deaths are the last thing to go down but i feel every one , i felt like it was very nearly me

Sadly Covidiots need to be told and told again so it does need to happen.

1401 all settings deaths unfortunately.

Almost exactly as expected. A little fewer out of hospital England deaths today. Just over 250.
