It's not just a shop. It's a distribution centre, exporting uk jobs to the EU. But chances are it will be jobs being done here by EU immigrants so that will please some.

This is interesting from The Guardian and confirms that these new costs associated with exporting to the EU will not go away soon. Maybe someone with more knowledge on VAT can help me. what has changed? Has VAT not always been charged on exported goods?
anyway, the long and short of it is jobs will be lost in the U.K. and moved to EU.

Welsh ports like Holyhead are really struggling. The major route form Eire to EU was via the UK. This appeara to be drying up and Stena line have just started a Dublin-Cherbourg ferry for the first time and many hauliers are now diverting onto that route. Small fry you may say but it all sucks money from our economy be it form service station stops or lorries not refuelling in the UK and so loss of taxes.

Yup not only fucking up our own ports and surrounding towns prosperity it is affecting Irelands food industry, though I expect leavers won't give a toss abput that bit

exactly - the reduction in GDP will be across the board - it was predicted the Govt's own impact studies which anyone pro-Brexit knew and labelled it Project Fear.
