David Maddox of the Sunday Espresso has a headline today which states that City's ownership "comes under scrutiny" as a result of a survey undertaken my some no-marks of whom I hadn't previously heard.
Amongst other things, according to the survey 27% of respondents stated that individuals with links to repressive regimes should be banned from club ownership. Yet 34% wanted an end to leveraged takeovers such as that which took place with a local team.

Headline:
"Premier League has 'woeful' levels of trust as Man City ownership is questioned"

How the fuck do these shitehawks get this bollocks past an editor?

I’m gutted to see this old chestnut regurgitated. Our owners have done nothing but good things for our club; for Manchester and for football in general.

I’ve emailed the club to ask why such articles continually go unchallenged

It might help if we all asked the club to explain. I know we can’t sue every paper as it would be an endless task but enough is enough

The lack of the media being able to use Google is frightening. I’m pretty sure Google would be able to tell me that we don’t have any individuals owning the club. Pretty certain. It would say we were owned by CFG, Silver Lake & CMC?

Email Maddox telling him to Google: who owns Manchester City

not getting involved with him. Won’t give him the satisfaction of thinking fans are reading his shit. I’ve asked the club so see what happens. It’s their job to defend themselves

If you think there’s a Mr Big somewhere, stroking his white cat, puffing on a large cigar and plotting the downfall of MCFC you’re probably wrong.

If you think there’s a collection of bodies and individuals, for whom in different ways and for different reasons denigrating MCFC and disparaging its achievements and if possible frustrating it’s progress is in their own interests, you’re probably right.

I’m interested in which view Frank takes.
Mate, not even @franksinatra can deny that Ernst Blofeld was a rag.......... ;-)

Like any unregulated “industry” there are vested interest at play, and in this case it’s the huge fan bases of the 2 **** clubs, it sells more subscriptions, more papers, gets more clicks, pleases more watchers. It’s a case of love scum hate City, love dippers hate City. There’s almost certainly elements of racism in there (pro USA, anti Arab). We weren’t hated when we were shit, it’s only when we upset the establishment, the sky 4 etc. It’s every week, it’s every commentatory, and to deny otherwise is gullible beyond belief. Yesterday we score and it’s “no flag” in a quiet and disgruntled voice, no mention of us scoring, Tyler whispers when we score, shouts when we concede. It’s how it is. If Scudamore could say publicly that it’s good for the premier league for the scum and dippers to win it, just Imagine what goes on behind closed doors
Exactly - frightening..........

I wonder who started the ball rolling to send
that letter from the the Hateful Eight (or nine) to CAS? I don't like the word 'agenda' its too formal.
There is certainly some collusion amongst many of the teams in the top half and those who seek to benefit from the crumbs from their table. The media merely side with them all.
I get your point, but that's exactly what it is mate (the name of the thread should be reverted back in my humble opinion).

If I am the sports editor at the Sun (yes I know), and I hold my daily / weekly staff meeting I am going to ensure that my remit (to sell newspapers / obtain clicks for my sports section) is very clearly drilled into my reporters and writers to find me the stories and opinions that will sell.

That in a nutshell is a clear agenda set out by myself.

What do we think the remit for the sports editor at The Mail or The Star or The Guardian is?

Exactly the same.

Negative City story + Positive United / Liverpool / Arsenal stories = lots of papers and clicks.

In short, I get to keep my job for another week at the paper..........

You have to get past the rag run City Admin Dept !

Murphy kind of threw us a crumb by uttering something I genuinely didn't know. That two of his uncles played for City - the Futcher brothers. I hope they both disowned the **** years ago.

What is the more impressive achievement in journalism, having been the political editor of the Daily Star or the current political editor of the Express.

Both newspapers are directionless rags run on the backs of freelancers and interns and clapped out old journalists with no where else to go. Maddock is a old fleet street fool who normally spends his time fawning over beyond their time right wing politicians.

The reason that this report is highlighted in the politics section is is that the gormless buffoon is also a member of the swivel eyed branch of scribbles for dipperdom

So the media narrative is Liverpool were excellent today but unluckily just ran into the club equivalent of the all conquering 1970 Brazilian World Cup winners.
No, totally wrong, they were equal to the equivilant of the Brazil 1970 team but they came up against a player bought from Melchester Rovers called Roy Ofthe.
(Ask yer dad)

I have just read that what a cnut that Maddox is

Isn't it funny about this time every year just to start & upset City the billshit reporting & full on negative PR stunts come out

How is this twat allowed to report this cock & bull naming our owner & his family

Surely this can be taken to the cleaners what a complete cnut..

Maddock is little more than a Liverpool FC press officer planted in the Mirror’s offices. Transparent as fuck
Different Maddocks but both equally loathsome

Haha just looked and you're right. How can one company (Reach Plc) employ two City haters with almost identical names? Are they cloning these twats in a lab somewhere in the sewers of Canary Wharf?
That FERW ‘organisation’ is a rabble of nobodies who want to be somebodies and who have previous for this, the only way anybody has ever heard of them is when they slag City off. They know what sells
