and it is still shite. I was always told you cannot have 2 masters. Massey believed the passage of play had finished so she flagged for offside, the ref should have blown when she flagged, he didnt and now we have this farce.

We either have linesmen or we have VAR we cannot have both. VAR and the people using it are making football a joke. How is Msssey meant to decide when the attack is over to put her flag up ?

Massey shouldn’t have put her flag up until the play had finished as in goal scored which it was..

when the ball is either cleared or goes out of play would be a start, we were still attacking.

he rightly carried on because she didn't do her job properly and got it wrong.

Seen enough ridiculous offside decisions to remember what it’s like without VAR. cancelo wonderful goal would have been ruled out. Stupid.

Yes, VAR can get it wrong when the margins are millimetres- but with clearer rule changes it can work much better.

More fool them, you play to the whistle not the flag. The ref is not obliged to stop play if the assistant flags - in this case the ref was quite correct to let play continue as the attack was continuing. Sian Massey made an error by raising the flag too soon, unusually because she's one of the better assistants.

Yes we know you would, you tell us every second day. I do not know a City fan that would keep it, the game is slowed down, there are stupid decisions made by unaccountable men 200 miles away and it is not infallible. The idiot in the middle with the whistle now has an idiot with a tv screen helping him be that idiot.
They will no doubt clarify the perfectly good offside rule after tonight just as they did after Villa and none of us will be any the wiser.

The cock up would have been without VAR and the lino getting it wrong.

Play starts and stops only on the ref's whistle, the assistants are there to do just that, to assist but not to decide when play stops. Tonight the assistant made an error but the ref correctly allowed play to go on and VAR correctly overruled the offside flag.

Because often it takes 4 or 5 minutes for them to make a decision and often it is still not the correct one.
VAR was in our favour tonight but it is not good for the game, it slows it down, the idiots are inconsistent in the decisions they make and it is killing football.
