VAR - 2020/21

Var is not the problem, the problem is it's being used by human officials, who may be incompetent or inconsistent or both. That is exactly the same problem we had before Var. Even if it allows a small increase in correct decisions it is worth it. Some rules should be re worded to make some decisions more clear cut and minimise the possibility of human failings. The introduction of goal line cameras allowed a much improved judgement of whether a ball went completely over the goal line despite the usual whinging about how it would ruin the game. When was the last time you saw a 5 minute wait for a decision.
Villa v Sheffield United last season. Villa are still in the PL due to the system failure.

Let's see how it helps the scum when they struggle to break down the bottom team later.

Sian is probably one of the top3 or 4 assistants in the PL. Made a mistake in flagging early in this instance. However , under the old way she would have flagged straight away and we would never have scored. Think when she came up from the FL she had something like 95% accuracy for off sides. She frankly, looked embarressed when they came off at half time.

Could have been a whole lot worse for her if there'd been fans in the stadium.

And VAR spoils a perfectly good goal because Sons heel was offside. No true football fan can agree with this shit, it is ducking the life out of the game. - and yes I know it is the people who are operating it)

No mention of VAR ruling out Liverpool’s goal though ? In which I thought was a harsh handball as spurs player knocked it on to Firminhos hand.

But the ref went over and had a good look himself - and made his decision. That’s all we can ask.

I'd stopped watching by then, I notice though you don't comment on the Son goal. VAR and the people that operate it are squeezing the life out of a beautiful game.
A heel FFS.

Nothing to comment on , Son was correctly ruled offside according to the letter of the law - so it was the right decision.

Do you think they should change the law to allow players to be a bit offside ?

The only issue I've got with this is we all know it all depends on which frame they use to determine if it's offside or not.

Stop wumming, it is obvious what I think, scrap VAR and all who sail in her.

he was well offside whichever frame you look at.

he was walking back from an offside position which is something that could be argued as he wasn’t interfering- but he’s posistion was deffo offside by the current laws. But apparently that’s me being a WUM. sigh.

Are we only allowed to agree with your position on here ?

Check out some of the farcical decisions in the championship and the FA cup last week to realise why many do think we need VAR.
