He won the world cup and he played in 7 games, scored 4 goals, got 1 assist, he scored in the world cup final and won the award for best young player. Wouldn't say that's average.

Same world cup as Mendy and Pogba? I wasn't calling the French team average anyway

16 goals in 39 games is average.. As is his 15 in 31 champs league games, Halaand already has more in 2 less seasons, 16 in 13 games.

16 goals in 39 games for France...10 of the games which he played when he was 17 years old? Also doesn't always play as main striker hence his 15 assists along with those 16 goals (31 in 39). Pretty impressive for his age really.

Champions league is the same, he's scored 21 in UCL, along with 17 assists (38 in 41), very strong. Still holds the record for the most goals scored by an under 21 player too.

Mbappes return is good when you add in the assists but he's a flat track that rarely shows up in the big games

This season - 0 goal involvements vs Man Untied or Leipzig instead 2 goals 3 assists vs Basaksehir

Last season 0 goals in the knockout stages(psg made it to the final) Again stat padded vs Club Brugge and Galatasary - 4goals 4assists

Then there's Halaand who has scored vs every opponent he has faced.

I think when push comes to shove we will be the third choice for Mbappe, the first being moving to Madrid ( his dream club ), PSG ( Already settled, high wages , He is french too) and then us ( Great young team and Pep).
Another deterrent would be his high wages and huge transfer fees ( Of what I read he already gets KDB/Pogba wages or more). He may want an increment on that.
With Haaland, the comparatively young age, the father's connection with City, his release clause, comparative less wages and City's decent relationship with BVB all work in our favor. We can also let go of the Sancho fees.
The signs point on our favor so hopefully we put all our effort on Haaland and let mbappe move to madrid or elsewhere.

Firstly, can’t believe Mbappe gets called average.

Quality player who would get in any team in world football.

That said unless things have changed it seems just a matter of time before he moves to Madrid, whilst Haaland’s next move strikes me as being the Premier League.

For me, blue spec’s off as much as I can. I see us as the team with the most chance of trophies for him, the best manager, the best players and a first team place for him.

With some players the name Liverpool or United will have more kudos applied to it, whilst this passes with every year and given the fact his Dad played for us (you would hope this is not an issue).

There is also the added issue with Haaland that he could well join one of our rivals if we do not get him, whereas Mbappe France or Spain is not such an issue.

For me I’d be all over Haaland, I don’t think there’s much chance of a deal being done on the quiet and all teams who are interested will wait until Mino advises, so anything in the paper I would take with a pinch of salt.

Don't get me wrong both are great players, and we would be incredibly lucky if we signed either one of them.

I just think you're being a bit harsh saying he's a flat-track bully.

He has had goals in the champions league against big teams. Utd, Liverpool, Madrid, Bayern, City, Juventus, Dortmund. Not to mention a great goal in the world cup final which practically sealed the game for them.

I personally just think Mbappe has more technique to his overall game, like his passing/creative ability and dribbling, which suits Peps philosophy. He's also used to playing in a team where everyone parks the bus against them.

Both player are incredibly special and will probably dominate world football for the next decade so I’d be delighted if we land either of them.

I suspect £100m will represent great value and if they were on longer contract with no release clauses they would be considerably more expensive given their age & resale value vs a player such as Kane who at 27 has one big contract left.

Now if I had to make a choice my head says mbappe as he’d just fit straight into our system but my heart says Haaland as he has a connection to our club and I hope would play for the badge in a way that mbappe never would.

Now I suspect there is zero chance of us getting mbappe due to the relationship of our respective owners and that his next move is nailed on to Madrid (though not necessarily this summer).

I suspect if the right package is put together that Dortmund will sell Haaland (due to the release clause that comes active the following year). I am sure we can put together an attractive package to meet the player & clubs needs, I doubt many can match us but also that we will not put the largest offer on the table so it’ll come down to whether Haaland and his representatives buy into our clubs stability, the way we do business, the project on offer, ability to play with the best players around him and the chance to work with our manager. If this deal happens I suspect we will need Harland to push for a move to us Vs a club which offers more financially.

We absolutely have to be in for him as he represents the very best in the market and the sort of player we have to be after given our position and ambitions but we also have to be looking at a plan b‘s as this deal may not happen and we may see him go to a rival so need to strengthen in this position to compete As merely to stand still replacing Aguero is incredibly difficult.

Although I’d accept sacrificing Jesus to land Haaland I truly hope we dont as he’s a great second striker due to his loyalty, flexibility and quality Which I think would be very difficult to find elsewhere.

There is Zero Chance Mbappe comes here, I think we missed our window on that, I think he ends up in Madrid, he has openly stated it's his boyhood club and he grew idolizing Cristiano, and given that Messi is leaving Barca this summer, you know La Liga is going to be looking to bring in a new star to drive viewership up, and given Barcelona is practically bankrupt the stars align for him in Madrid, That and the fact that our own doesn't exactly get along with PSG's ownership would make this a near-impossible deal.

Don't think we will even go for either....but would be a no brainer at present.
Haaland has scored alot of goals in 1 season (split over 2) for Dortmund in a league with alot of crap teams.....every one thinks he's a world beater (like plenty before him)...lets see if he maintains it/is that good?
Mbappe has done it for longer (and for France) and is streets ahead at the moment.

Ligue 1 is even worse league than Bundesliga. Haaland also has insane record in CL. Your comment can't be taken seriously at all.

Haaland, Mbappe is a wide player imo and extremely reliant on pace. Absolutely fantastic talent but one bad injury could see him drop a few levels. Also doesn't seem to want to come here, I want players that buy into what we're doing.
