I could have easily just topped up the 8" I had but no, had to be the big fucking man.Yes but that was coming from a very low base.
Show off what? No **** needs to ask the time anymore as we all own phones.
And the places where people don't I doubt you would flash a 1K watch.
Just get a knock off rolex off harpuhey market for a tenner no one will notice
I bought couple of 60s and 70s watches about 18 months ago as I wanted something a bit different . never been big into watches but like some of the funky designs including some 70s jump hour watches . become an addiction got about 15 now. nothing that's worth any money . put new straps on some .couple of non runners I fancied having a tinker with ( no idea what I am doing though) . Think the most paid for one was £50 and that came with 3 other non runners.Buy a vintage mechanical watch, there are a available in many styles. They are distinctive and not very common and will give you your own sense of identity. Plus if/when you have children/grandkids they will get to inherit an antique that they can pass on to the next generation
Pics please, not of the watchMy darling wife bought me a beautiful Georg Jansen for my 60th last year, a touch under a grand but sheer understated elegance. I love it....and her
Watches are for wearing, be it a 10 quid casio or a 250k patek.
I was trying to justify the outlay, as others had said they are a waste of money.
I have a Omega planet ocean titanium chrono and I just make sure it’s insured and wear it everydayWatches are for wearing, be it a 10 quid casio or a 250k patek.

Also a form of ready cash you can sell in an instant if you need the moneyAs an investment, I agree, you are spot on.
I bought a submariner in 2007 for £3,300 - the one with the enlarged lume spots and a green bezel - an "LV". It's now worth £15k.
not one to wear at an away game at Klanfield then? Also a form of ready cash you can sell in an instant if you need the money
Good for her and very good of you! When the first lockdown ended i had a constant stream of customers wanting watch batteries fitting.
One old dear came in and put a bag full of watches on the counter and told me she'd found her husbands (deceased) watches when clearing out the drawers. She had no idea if they were worth doing.
One by one i pulled out the boxes and they were all 'branded', boxed and had paperwork. My first thought was 'fake' but when i looked closer they seemed real enough. The old dear had no idea if they were real or what their value could be. I took them to a jeweller mate and he confirmed almost all were real and worth thousands.
Yellow 150 markers is all you need :)Picked myself my first “nice watch” this week. Given up the Apple Watch for a Garmin Marq Golfer and have to say I love it.
