Owning a nice watch

To an extent. I have to be honest though, I would never consider picking up my phone to check the time. Far less convenient than just looking at your wrist! If you get a decent waterproof one, then you can wear it anywhere. I go swimming, snorkeling, mucking about on the beach etc with a watch on - I'd not do that with a phone.

See for me I'm glued to my phone - that's a separate issue - so if I ever want to know the time I use that.

I wouldn't spend thousands on one but I have a nice Viv Westwood watch that looks great. Yes they are a fashion piece but they do look good and are a must have with a nice suit

A Grand Seiko. Just as good as good if not better than a Rolex for a lot less cost.
The textured snowflake dial on a GS spring drive is stunning in the flesh.

For many years I had a nice Omega and loved it but the servicing costs made it just too expensive to maintain so I sold it. Now using a 40 year old Seiko my late dad left me but I do miss the Omega.
