Return of Supporters

I don't blame the club - they are trying to sort out something with all the authorities at short notice. Its the rules imposed by the FA etc who are dictating how we get there yet travel by the general public is going on around us all day!!
Not having that, sorry. They could easily have funded 1st class travel for everyone. And it would have cost them peanuts.

Hi Prestwich.
It's been a really difficult call for us all.
I have my ticket, and train travel, which I'm thankful for.
Personally though:
I've had a season ticket for over 20 years
I've been to grounds I never thought I would in England - that was an eye opener lol
I've been to grounds I never thought I would in Europe
I've been lucky financially - which is key here.
I do believe, in this instance, that a ballot would have been fairer
Why?
I have traveled like you ! the length and breadth of this country for 40+ years and taken my son with me for the last 10 years (however he can’t have a ticket as he’s only 17)

Spent literally thousands and thousands taken days off afternoons off getting home from places like Paris and Swansea at 3-00am and back in work at 7-30am

So someone with 1000 points who just joined the cup scheme last season gets one before me or you
Sorry
It needs a pecking order unfortunately

would i need photo ID to get in? (Season ticket holder for 30 years+) I know i've gone on about it before (sorry), but i'm trying to get a citizens card from uk gov, and as i've never had photo ID before i need a referee to prove who i am, such as a GP. But my GP surgery have informed me this week they no longer offer that service (i know they used to do it, even though you had to pay). So i'm a bit panicked.... I need to get an application off next week, but have no one on their list of referees i can use thanks to my bloody doctors not bothering "in the covid climate".
The email confirmation says to collect your match ticket at Piccadilly or Etihad you must provide photographic ID. For those who were lucky enough to get the car spaces and print at home tickets they presumably don't, unless their conf says they have to show ID at Wembley.

Very few tickets sold today its quite amazing, I thought they would have gone but looks like very few want to go, I know its a bit of a faff but its a Cup final, its City, it will be different but am going to support our club.

I have the option to get one, and all the testing is no issue to arrange, but for me with two weeks notice £120/£130 is just no financially doable as I would get the train option(been on official coaches and they are quite souless when lone wolfing it).

Add to that I just don't feel 2000 blues spread over what would be an area normally occupied by nearly 40000 doesn't feel enticing.

Football is about more than just watching the team to me it's the day out with mates, to chatting to those next to you and sharing the joy and sorrows.

Lastly and this is key, London has new variants of covid popping up last few days/weeks and though I have had my first vaccine dose, I don't think it is worth the risk in these circumstances.

Everton, FA Cup final and istanbul (if we we reach either) I will go if I can, this for me is too soon /short notice.

I have just been on the web site and am shocked the tickets have not been snapped up. Maybe the process of getting to the game is the deciding factor. I have been trying to use the links provided from the club to find my local "rapid lateral flow test site" in Preston. I have not managed to establish where the test site is located or how to book it.
Hounds Hill shopping centre in central Blackpool has an on-site LFT facility open until 3-40pm on Saturdays, no booking required. Click on "symptom-free testing" in the link. Not too far away if you still haven't found anything locally.

And your last paragraph there sums up exactly why they haven't been snapped up.
I hardly miss a game but have never even contemplated going to this especially given they've got the audacity to charge us, for this when others go free. Far to much faffing about the whole thing and I can't believe a 'strictly controlled' day out at a 9/10ths deserted Wembley being told what I can and can't do will be better than sitting mask free in front of the TV with a few cans.
Very rare I say this but on this occasion being an armchair supporter is definitely my preference.

You're meant to be a rep for us, you should be consulting us for our views, not hiding behind secrecy (speaking as a someone who was a senior union rep).
Where’s the hiding behind secrecy?

I see very few comments about tickets on this forum that aren’t motivated by self interest. Maybe your views are different.

There’s going to be more demand than supply and that’s if the Covid conditions allow up to 10k Blues in the ground. The maths dictate that a lot of us won’t get tickets but we’ve seen more success in the last decade than most of us could dream of. No end of consultations will change the maths.

When we thought we'd get back to games before the end of the season, that would definitely have been by ballot. But the club felt it was only fair to rewards points holders on the cup scheme for this game. We (City Matters) had been pressing the club to give some priority to the highest points holders even in a ballot so we're fully behind the club's move to sell tickets for the League Cup final purely on points.
I'm not saying it's wrong, just that the person who spoke to my wife seemed sure it was going to be a ballot, and it was only a couple of weeks ago

I was also a senior union rep. And we negotiated with the company, reported back to our committee then reported back to our members once we had something to report. I can tell you what we want, which is the maximum number of season card holders to get tickets, with some priority for higher points. But we're not objecting to the ballot principle. Whether that's what we'll get is another matter.

At the time, that would have been the correct answer. But with the League Cup final meaning so few tickets, and being a Wembley final, it was felt that it should be done on the usual basis for a final. That's the correct decision but probably at the time your good lady spoke to them, we wouldn't have known that there would be fans at the game.

We met with the club at the end of March and they knew then there was a possibility of that but no details at all.

As always whatever city do won't please everyone, it is a conundrum, how to do it as fair as possible.

personally I would split it so any allocation in Lvl 1 goes to SC holders of there, same for 2&3

Imagine if you balloted and somehow 70% of 2nd teir supporters got picked out.

I don't mind missing out if done fairly

Anyone know why City have restrictions on them as to whom can apply for tickets, yet the same doesn't apply to Spurs, if Spurs can have fans from around the country why can't City?
Have we not allocated 12% to Blues in London and the Home Counties?
It’s a good point though.
If a Blue from Scotland for instance with 20k points can’t apply, doesn’t seem right!

Already mentioned on here but I suspect it's to ensure that all the organised travel from Manchester is taken up. Spurs fans will all be making their own way, wherever they live.

nobody knows what the situation is going to be going forward, if City fans in certain areas are excluded from sales in the future, a lot of people are going to sack it off, nobody has explained why Spurs fans can go, and City fans can't.
