Great post... It is pretty obvious we can't play the dortmund lineup in upcoming all matches and run them down..WE ahve too many games. If we want to win all 4 then we have to trust all the squad, no other choice. I am totally fine with today's loss..It is just that KDB's injury is huge blow for the CL chances..it is what it is I guessCalmed down now.
So many games, Pep felt he had to trust in certain players with more important games to come.
It's a shame but we can't really complain can we.

I dont know how they can, but they did. Ruben even looked a step slow. I think the bigger issue is that the players you mentioned lack the quality to be competitive against the second best squad in the prem. Chelsea are a solid team. Not being able to rest and recover our top choice players pretty much guaranteed that there would be a step down in quality. It is what it is.Steffen, cancelo, laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, sterling, Torres, Jesus..... That's almost the entire line up. How can they look lethargic when none of them played midweek?? The midweek game is not an excuse when those players have had a week with no match time (apart from sterlings 5 minutes in Dortmund)

We made too many changes all over the pitch and that front 3 were absolutely wretched. Whilst Sterling was awful, he did try. Torres looked lost and Jesus tried but isn't good enough. Mind you the midfield gave them scraps. Mendy and Cancelo reverted to type and offered little in defence and nothing in attack.
Steffens positioning was appalling. It was absolutely dreadful. Why is he playing? Why would Ederson need a rest as he does so little!!
I totally disagree with most of you about Chelsea. They were superb and ran the game. Mind you we let them.
What got me was we had no confidence about our game in the first 20 mins, just like Wednesday. We allowed the opponent to set the tempo. Were supposed to be the ones who teams fear!! Pep choked again for me in another big game. Sorry, you know I'm a fan but this is a pattern now in big games.
Next season we need to think about our priorities. I don't see any point in lumbering to semis in all cups if we have to play Mendy etc.
Last one...KdB. we play better without him. When he was injured, Silva, Gundo, Foden, Rodri nd Mahrez were superb.
Really disappointed tonight. We need to get our heads straight and stop overthinking these games.

I think Dias looked tired and so did kevin but it's a mixed team. I'd venture to say that that team hasnt played together ever before. But if he doesnt change it he would be murdered on here. Catch 22 really. Couldnt play the exact same side as in midweek could he ? Quadruple attempt is very difficult as rotation creates an unsettled side.This was just one game too many in a very congested schedule. Utter shite that Soton/LCFC are playing on Sunday after a mid-week off. Chelsea getting an extra day didn’t help either.
The entire team looked lethargic today and they were letdown by the rested players not making any runs to open up space. Furthermore, inaccurate passing through the midfield stalled any build-up. I suppose it was bound to happen.

wtf have i just readDespite his failings and form. He has the best natural movement of anyone in our squad by an absolute country mile.. hence why he finds himself missing so many easy one on ones with keepers.
