i believe the super league want weekend football slots and a mid week cup competition like champions league football ?

from what i hear some time ago the super league will be setup into 2 leagues with a knockout base finals and promotion and relegation from super one and two
Which conflicts with current PL and CL/EL timeslots. Those competitions won't end, so they won't be able to compete in them at the same time as their new ESL games and you can be damn sure the PL won't roll over as they have their own product to protect.

Bournmouth Nowrich Brentford Barnsley mouth watering excitement for the global fan base of the most exciting league in the world
Bournemouth were the better team the last time we played them in the league, Norwich beat us at their place last time we went there.

We dicked 14 times winners of the CL, Madrid, when we played them last season.

But the PL doesn't continue as is.

If let's say a team gets ahead like Liverpool last season. There is no incentive for the other 5 to play their first team in the PL so they will concentrate on the ESL. That will make the PL a second rate competition
Absolutely. I meant the PL continues with 20 clubs including the big 6. What it does to the competiveness of the PL is totally destroy it.

I don't believe Khaldoon would do that at the expense of the people who follow the club.

He is tapped into the very culture of it, certainly more than your average Chairman.

Abu Dhabi seems quite strident when it comes to preserving culture and would always give the owners the benefit of the doubt until I saw the actual plans.

Soriano, I would not have much faith in, but he still answers to the top man.

The early info doesn't make sense, as there is no leverage for us to accumulate power in positions that matter?

We don’t know all the details yet obviously I’m just gobsmacked some supporters would accept what has been discussed so far.

“Super” league.
No french or German teams, only us from the “top 6”
Doesn’t sound very super to me, sounds more like the club World Cup.

Edit. I’d miss read the “only us signed up from the top 6”, knobhead : )
Seems we are the only ones not to, yet.
So if it’s replacing the champions league there’s only one question that matters..
can I still boo the crappy anthem?
There's a new anthem

You are living in a dream world if you don't think people will subscribe to this.

I think you missed my original post. I never said I don’t think fans will subscribe, I said it’s in our hands. If no one watches it, it will die. Simples. But point being it needs fans to put money in to be a viable project.

Are you willfully ignoring ALL the posts telling you where this is headed? This is a Super League. If this happens all the Super League clubs will only play each other in a Pan European League — not in 22 or 23, but inevitably, eventually. This is just a first step.
So you are saying they don’t play in their own domestic leagues? No way that happens.

Which conflicts with current PL and CL/EL timeslots. Those competitions won't end, so they won't be able to compete in them at the same time as their new ESL games and you can be damn sure the PL won't roll over as they have their own product to protect.

maybe club will want both and have 2 teams one in the super league and another in the premier league

I've never understood this about American sport ... it would be like City moving to Bath over the summer and then carrying on as Bath City next season with an entirely new fan base of lifelong "City fans" reminiscing about Colin Bell and York away and how they used to do the Poznan.
Bonkers.

But then I never understood how New York City were created one day in 2013 and had an instant attending fanbase of 20,000 ?
It's not just an American thing though. I know everyone wants a common enemy right now but this is an idea thats been around for 30 years, and 3/4's of the clubs involved have no American stake whatsoever.

People are greedy. Nationality has nothing to do with it. We can all point the finger wherever we want but money and chasing profits has been a part of European football forever, it always will be, and that wouldnt change if there was 0% or 100% American ownership.

I'll probably get lots of shit for saying this but glass houses and all that.

Neville wouldn't take 2 seconds to agree to be a pundit for this sham if the money was right
I'm not so sure about that. Neville is already wealthy as he owns a hotel and a football club. He also knows very well that the destruction of the Champions League destroys his own legacy. Even Ferguson was quick out of the blocks today to point out it would be bad for competition and he had fond memories of the the Champions League.

Those Champions League nights don't mean much if they no longer exist.
