Do you honestly believe the PL will kick out their top 6 teams were is their revenue going to come from. There will be a compromise

UEFA, the English Football Association, the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), LaLiga, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A all announced that statement together as one.

Germany and France have both dismissed it outright.

I've already said, yes.

Where is the compromise for the PL? What if scheduling conflicts with the PL season? Are the non-ESL teams just supposed to go along with it? There's no compromise for the PL other than expelling the teams that have agreed to join it.
It’s just a revamped CL which sadly will be played by the same teams every year. PL continues as is with the same teams. Europa league becomes the route into Europe for all the other teams.

The first thing UEFA should do is ban any club who has signed up from the Champions League in the years before this gets going. Give the English places to Leicester, West Ham, Everton etc. Likewise ban them from the FA Cup and so on. Starve these greedy clubs of income and competition.
And if we have really signed up for this, then that applies to City also.

You are glossing over the fact that most fans of most clubs know they will never win the Premier league, or be in the chumps league.... but it is the ILLUSION that it COULD happen that makes the competitive nature of the leagues so compelling.
That's why promotion chasing Brentford can dream of the premier promised land whilst playing former 2 time European champions Notts Forest.
Remove that and it's all just pointless.
Precisely.

Totally agree - all custodians lucky enough to own something within our revered footballing pyramid should be making decisions for the good of the game not just self interest.

And I do mean all owners.......

So there you go, nobody is boycotting the coverage.

There is a lot of emotion out there but the reality is that football is already a closed shop.

Leicester might be an anomoly, City might be a rags to riches tale, but the truth is Leicester was a freak and City are too big now to be ignored.

Leicester winning the league was akin to me giving a begger £20 in the street and me suddenly feeling like I've done my bit for homelessness.

The elite will let it have its anomoly, but that's just to finesse the truth that the closed shop has always existed.
But it's not always existed. It only started with advent of the PL and CL working hand in hand.
I fear we are now far too far down the road of greed vs meritocracy.

It's not that at all. UEFA will still have it's CL competition. The ESL isn't a replacement for the CL. UEFA won't have anything to do with the ESL.

All we’re hearing now is rumour. Rumour founded on truth no doubt, but let’s pay the club the respect of waiting to hear their POV before losing our shit.

I don’t like it, but my guess is they knew they had to jump here and there’s more to this we don’t know.

for a start nobody on the previous 88 pages has even twigged the front loaded finance deal on the table and removal from ffp would see the breakaway teams have a disgusting amount of cash to spend immediately. Want Haaland? Forget it. Messi? Staying at Barca. Neymar/Mbappe? Easy pickings.
This deal will literally be a bail out for some clubs on the ropes. You want to deal with that while still fighting with Uefa?

All you say here may well be true.

Football, for me and many others, isnt just about money, even now.
It has been, and still is about dreams of glory and playing the glamorous teams, for fans up and down the country.
Some things are more important than money.

Neville is right. The power has to be taken back from these clubs including ours.

All clubs that signed a letter of intent should be banned from European competition for a year.

We’ve had project restart and this super league in one season, when will the third come? They will keep coming back and back.

i believe the super league want weekend football slots and a mid week cup competition like champions league football ?

from what i hear some time ago the super league will be setup into 2 leagues with a knockout base finals and promotion and relegation from super one and two

Are you willfully ignoring ALL the posts telling you where this is headed? This is a Super League. If this happens all the Super League clubs will only play each other in a Pan European League — not in 22 or 23, but inevitably, eventually. This is just a first step.

The 12 people who have voted yes to this must be the same 12 who voted for Sterling,Mendy,Torres and Steffen for yesterday's man of the match
I have the utmost respect for the job Khaldoon has done, but let's not pretend he's got where he has in life without a ruthless streak. He has no loyalty to us as fans, or to the club's history. He is responsible for one thing only - keeping today's City, a global club, at the top table and maximising our slice of the pie, so that we make a profit for our owners and advertise Abu Dhabi.

What gives me hope is that I believe any breakaway from the domestic league is doomed to fail, and I hope he agrees. But what I don't appreciate is anyone playing poker with the future of our club. You can war game anything, sometimes it doesn't pan out. The risk of losing everything is far too great.
this post stands out - my god! this could kill off the clubs concerned

But the PL doesn't continue as is.

If let's say a team gets ahead like Liverpool last season. There is no incentive for the other 5 to play their first team in the PL so they will concentrate on the ESL. That will make the PL a second rate competition
