just think, sit back now and think about being in a league that we cant be relegated from.... are you at the game in your mind now?

the only thing you can cheer on is your team winning, a good performance, a hard fought draw, or a dispiriting defeat.... but without fear of losing it all. no adrenaline flowing, no pressure building. we are 10th in the league, but its ok, the guest team in 7th is going to be removed from the league because, y'know.. it's our league!!!!!

being 7th-10th in the league at the back end of the season, nothing riding on it, nothing to even go the game for, apart from the experience. maybe just to see mbappe play for Madrid.

grim!

fucking grimmer than grim!
If we have as is being reported, been backed into a corner on this, could we legitimately put out weaker teams (EDs with some first team) and still just focus on the main stream comps (Prem, FA cup etc etc)?

if this shite goes ahead with city involved i am done with football.

for the past 30 years i havve been to at least 25 games each season, even when living 100's of miles from manchester.

this is ruinous to football, i want no part of it

I haven't completely given up but its going to get very tedious and ridiculous expensive for an average match going supporter
Looking at it a different way, there will surely be free streams for this crap all over t'interweb, 'cos sure as eggs is eggs, hardly anyone will pay stupid amounts to Sky/Bt Sports/BeIN to watch what are in effect high quality (allegedly) friendlies.

Can you just imagine paying to watch Arse v AC Milan (or any Italian Club). FFS, I'd rather shit in my mouth.

There isn't going to be an FA Cup or EFL Cup involving City if this goes ahead. Even if the PL don't have the bollocks to expel teams this is going to be open war with the FA and Football League.

That would be funny. Play our EDS in the Super League because we are a founding member and can’t be booted. Take the money anyway lol.

Only clubs with money, and those with American owners specifically have been invited to this, so it is obvious likes of Ajax, Porto, and others miss out. They aren't taking a stand, they simply aren't considered. German and French clubs have UEFA's backing all the way with their top club officials on UEFA's decision-making board. They have no urge to join ESL, but if it carries on and the plan comes to fruition, they will ultimately join.

We played a weakened team vs. Leeds for the Champions League last week. How is that different?

They will still compete for the League title.
It's different because it only happens now when European spots are secure and comfy leads are built to enable clubs to do it. Once the big six are guaranteed their spot next year what reason do they have to put out a full strength side beyond Christmas when they're already 10-20 points behind the league leaders?

The classic end of season games you get where clubs with nothing at stake don't seem to give a shit for the last 2/3 games will be happening every single week, its only teams within a dozen points of the top and bottom that will put any focus inot the league.
