Bayern Munich, Dortmund and PSG aren't having any of it at the moment.... but hey, the ESL will have The Arse and Spuds who are supposedly big clubs.... absolute dogshit, the grounds may be big and newish, but seriously, their teams are shite.
PSG will try to win the Champions League, either by us, Chelsea and Madrid getting kicked out, or the standard way, and then join in the summer. They prop up the French league, and the Champions League sadly won't have the appeal it has if the big clubs aren't in it.

Some seem to think it is all about the money. Sure it is from the owners perspective.

From a humble fan perspective it is purely concern about the destruction of recognized norms in our English game.

We don't want Super Leagues, turning football in to the SPL on Steroids ,6 derbies a Season, and playing Barcelona ,Madrid so regularly that we become bored shitless, and with it will come the full on horrible Americanization of our beautiful game. Squeezing commercial add breaks in to just about every aspect of the game. Corner "Tv commercial" water break "Tv commercial" player down for treatment "Tv commercial. goal scored Tv commercial. And you know it will happen, they are not spunking £400,000 000 to each Club from the goodness of their Heart. Who knows games might become 4 quarters simply to squeeze in more commercials.

If it looks like a Turd, smells like a Turd,.......its a Turd.

The top execs who imposed fines and bans on us and bemoaned us for doing what all the other clubs do, have resigned from Uefa and became the leaders of this new project...

Surely that in itself is a red flag to the club? We also don't have a representative on the board whereas Utd, Juve etc do. We have just won in court against Uefa FFP legislation, and now this competition includes what sounds like even stricter FFP legislation.

To top it all off, it will be an uncompetitive league. If you lose your first 4 games your season is over and you have nothing to lose, so why fight in the rest of the season? Relegation motivates the bottom teams to improve, and euro qualification at the top motivates the top half of the table.

This is what already happens in gridiron, baseball, and even the MLS. Stagnation
I'm not sure stagnation is the right thing to throw at US professional sports - Uncompetitiveness between the top and the bottom certainly, but the churn of teams cycling from the top (barring those with shrewd GMs etc who manage to maintain a position at the top) and bottom is fairly constant.

College sports in the US is the real comparison - playoff teams VOTED for by "selectors" rather than going off records/points. The same faces (wealthy universities at the top) every year - sounds familiar!

Have no doubt that those 3 know for sure that they will be invited in. They are taking a punt on that and so have the moral high ground. I guess our owners felt justifiably that we wouldn’t be invited if we didn’t start as founder members

If UEFA ban players from any of the breakaway clubs from the Euros it could be interesting. Could a player challenge their contract with a club if they are unable to play international games anymore?

its exactly what some other poster said, its Debt relief dressed up for the likes of Man U and Barca, there back on top of the spending tree at the expense of the English Premier Lg and lower divisions
Not to mention Madrid because if the government cuts the tap off they're up shit creek without a canoe never mind a paddle

What do Mike Summerbee, Paul Dickov, Paul Lake think...Paul Lake as well...
yeah...they’ve kept quiet...its all about the individual surviving the cull...what City?..what commaradarie?
