Any one else mildly suspicious about Bayern not sticking their Hand in this Super League Cookie Jar at inception ?.

Being joined at the hip with the Rags at birth, I am suspicious about their non involvement.

Is this a case of them letting the first 12 jump out the Trench to run at enemy defenses.

See how the land lies first.

I am sure their fingerprints will be found here somewhere.

But you’ll still post though?
Do you really think everybody on here that is still posting will be attending games in the future. I will post for as long as I like, a 50 year love affair is not easy to walk away from. I don't need your snide comments so fuck you.

That wouldn't have been the status quo though, would it? It would devalue the PL and the CL, which would destroy us financially.

The status quo was never really an option once this thing started. Either in or out.
That's it. City and Chelsea particularly in invidious position and reports suggest they're hearts not really in it. No winners out of this American bull.

He didn’t mention that his boss has the rights to broadcast the champions league through bein sports or that he sits on the uefa board or that he used corrupt methods to land the World Cup. Nothing but another know nothing mouthpiece.
You forgot rag bastard.

It's all but dead already.

You know when a proposal, which becomes an issue, get's as high as the Prime Minister, it won't happen.

Boris Johnson vows to block European Super League

'I don't like the look of these proposals. We are going to look at everything that we can do to make sure that this doesn't go ahead'
lol boris bloody johnson wont hold any sway in this whatsoever -because governments dont run the countries any longer the banks do

point scoring tory fucker is boris

Maybe I am struggling here mate but how is restructuring European competition football fucking off fans?
Provided the national leagues and other competitions remain the same this would not really alter the fan experience for the clubs involved.
Providing there is a fair system for promoting clubs in and out of the league I can’t see a problem. What I do disagree with is the concept of founder members automatically bein in the league but that is not much different to what UEFA have proposed with clubs automatically qualifying on historical grounds.
I suspect there will be an awful lot of negotiations ahead before a final format is established and maybe the super league current stance is simply the start of an extreme negotiating position.
Anyway it’s rattled UEFA’s corrupt establishment and I’m all for that!

Historical grounds like spurs and arsenal and in fairness us, lol.

They are so arrogant and up their own arse they would rather win the CL for the next century where there is no challenge. They don't need the finances, they already cherry pick the Bundesliga and pay a pittance for the players.

The only hope is that with Bayern so far standing firm and the fan reaction, backlash and polls etc is that these clubs get cold feet and do an about turn.
its going to take one big pair of balls to come out and say this is all wrong we are going to withdraw, when one has im sure others will, city and chelsea are the ones who should take the lead here, get together and do it jointly but end this fucking madness

No doubt the club was put in a hard place - either make a principled stand and refuse to join as a founding partner or leap in now and suffer the wrath of some fans, media and of course UEFA. I understand completely why they chose the second option - It's kind of like what ultimately went wrong with the Common Market - we didn't join originally and by the time we did many of the rules and principles were already set in stone favouring the initial member states. We all know how this ultimately ended ha!

So, if we had declined and perhaps the SL becomes a huge success with certain rules and regs it would be hard to have a voice coming on board as a new partner. I don't necessarily agree with it at all but I suspect that if it happens it will be successful and despite what some say those who were there at the start will have a much better hand and more influence. Plus the financial gains will be huge. We all know how we have been made to feel by UEFA in the recent past - the new rich kids on the block and not worthy of our place - only in it because we have money etc etc. I don't recall at any time them referring to our wonderful past and how this club has meant so much to so many for decades. I don't recall any one saying how our owners have transformed a part of the City that was in decline and have helped put Manchester on the map in some ways.

I don't like that this is driven by FSG and Utd's owners but sometimes it's always best to keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.

Final two thoughts - I think UEFA has been very arrogant for a number of years and will have zero sympathy for them if the CL falls apart by becoming a second rate competition. The way we have been treated in the competition sucks so I for one won't lose any sleep about it. Of course it's still not written in stone that it will happen but if it means we are treated with more respect I'm ok with it.

I also don't buy into some of the reactions today - most will be because they fear change to what has become a gravy train for a group of the most ill talented pundits and commentators there are. The football media should be perhaps thinking of using this to pressure the big 12 or whatever number it is to assist lower league clubs by the PL allowing a second team to be associated with smaller clubs in the area - this would increase fan bases as teams will have a certain number of players like a young Phil Foden to watch before they step into the parent clubs first team. The standards of the game should be raised at every level as should costs - wages, overheads etc paid by the parent club. The sport needs a kick up the arse and some of the old cronies need booting out.
What I don't understand is why you keep saying that you were pressed hard and you'd miss out on the boat.

You're not on the board which is held by people who pretty much hate you and will do everything they can to stab you. You'll have no power in matters of decisions and are second fiddle in that league even though you're a 'founding member'. This crap is by design a move to pin you down and you still went along with it.

And this closed shop will screw the domestic leagues over. The financial gap will be gigantic, the rest of the clubs will be locked out of European competitions forever, lose the money and the incentive, and in time you won't give a shit about the league anymore.

There is no possible upside in this farce other than for the dozen of chosen ones who will sit on an unlimited amount of money year in year out, no matter the sporting results.

Yeah european football need a revamping but I personally hope that, for all their woes, the FIFA and the UEFA will be able to tear a new one to any of those who chose to sign up for this shit.

Honest question. If this did collapse could you look at City the same again after?
