The lack of ‘European’ prefixing ‘Super League’ is interesting - I can see the clubs transcending Europe and being franchised, based in the States; Tampa United FC or New York City FC vs Real Madrid etc.
Old Trafford is falling apart, the Etihad belongs to the council, and the local fan bases aren’t likely to be able to attend matches at full capacity for a couple more years anyway yet, so what’s the point staying here?
The absolute elite players have always swerved Manchester clubs because they couldn’t be arsed living here; that’s going to be a massive disadvantage to both in terms of competing with the other Super League clubs for players - Chelsea - even Spurs and Arsenal - will have the upper hand if they’re equally financed, being able to offer London to entice the mercenaries.
Being based in New York or Florida instead would be a game changer for the Glazer’s and ADUG - they could legitimately rival the Spanish giants in terms of lifestyle and environment, and pull in the likes of Messi, Mbappe etc, while utilising the superior sporting and commercial infrastructures in the US.
