I don't. I'm predicting what will happen. I might be wrong. But I don't think I will be. I don't know the timing.

So far every time I've asked others for their counter-predictions I haven't received them.

I think this inevitably leads to the Super League clubs leaving their domestic leagues. If you disagree that this isn't the inevitable outcome, I'd be happy to hear why.

I've said this for years by the way. I've always expected a Super League to eventually happen. I didn't think it would be now, but maybe I should have in retrospect, thinking about COVID and the current financial condition of the sport relative to the past.

Fair enough, the ESL will be a roaring success, UEFA will fold and all the doom mongers will stop supporting Stockport County and come back again ;)

As a matter of interest this SL is supposed to comprise 20 clubs of whom 15 are "Founding Members" and 5 qualifying somehow. At the moment there are only 12 founding members so where do the other 3 come from given that PSG and BM aren't (currently) interested?

They said, they expected 3 more to join. My guess is Porto chickened out, maybe someone like Seville or Napoli?

I don't think that will save the PL, Celtic & Rangers are both shite. Are people in China going to want to watch Rangers v Norwich or Rags v Real Madrid?

The TV money in the PL will go through the floor if the 6 clubs leave. They know they hold the cards which is why they are trying to do this.

Think it's the first sign of the 12 dick heads over-playing their hand, they wanted 2 from Germany and 1 from France but both countries have rallied against it, much like the fans of this country.

If PL is able to kick out the six clubs and just promote six from Championship without relegation this year think the six could end up in trouble. Sure they can fight cases in courts but players are not going to sit around looking at how court hearings are going.

If that happens they will just play in this new league and probably invite a few more teams in. The PL will end up like the Championship, won't hardly have any global appeal and the TV money will plummet.

If this goes ahead and the 6 stay in the PL, it will be dead in the water in a few years anyway.

Either way I think the PL is fucked unless they can stop this happening.

It will never get that far.

The Premier league will have a meeting with Sky and BT for the next TV rights deal that starts in 2021 and they will say "We are replacing City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool with Norwich, Watford, Swansea, Brentford, Barnsley and Bournemouth, how many billions can we get per year?"

And sky will say, that sounds like the championship, in fact about 3/4s of the "new Premier league" have been in the championship under the current rights deal. and we pay £120m per year for the championship so it will be in that ball park."

And then the clubs will say, "gee that's a lot less than £3Bn a year isn't it? I'll go bankrupt if that happens"

And then they'll vote to keep the big 6.

The other three are clearly PSG, Bayern and Dortmund and I fully expect all three will eventually sign up once the dust settles.

IMHO what makes it worse is that 48 hours or so ago we all thought we had the perfect owners, they understood us as a fan base, got where we come from and managed, over an incredible 12/13 year period, to totally transform the club, the team as well as the local community.

Just feel cheated, by going along with the Glazers, JW Henry et al we are now what we had previously despised. We had the chance to dream and our came true. Now along with the Americans and Roman we are taking the dream away from everyone else.

The clubs hierarchy need to fucking explain themselves sharpish.

This is basically What the PDC and Phil Taylor did too darts and the BDO, the top players took over their own rights and career after realising they could make more money than the BDO was creating.
Players who defected (16 top professionals) were banned from BDO tournaments, The BDO went bump last year after 50 years of managing the top rank Darts tournaments.
UEFA are in the same boat here, I think it’s the beginning of the end for UEFA, FIFA will be the governing Body like WDF is for darts. UEFA will be consigned to the bin.

can’t say I’m arsed, UEFA have tried for years too get us thrown out, too appease the cartel. Now The cartel have turned on them and asked us too join instead. Abs we’ve agreed.

Not a bad analogy but the WDC (now PDC) didn't restrict it to just 16 players. As an aside, 2 of the 16 bottled it and went back to the BDO. Wonder if 2 of the 6 will...
