Seeing as its not sanctioned by a governing body, what happens to rules? (Laws of the game) They are open to change them to whatever they want.
Nah. It’s more like the scene in the shawshank redemption where the protagonist is talking about the sisters and how they used to try and rape him.....only city were too weak to fend off even the first advance. If that’s true and has been leaked by both clubs it could be the first stage of their backtrack.. hopefully
PL is watched across the globe. Not everyone is fan of top 6 (I should say founding six as not all are in top 6) and if PL can live for a year or two without them the fans will watch more so outside UK.It will never get that far.
The Premier league will have a meeting with Sky and BT for the next TV rights deal that starts in 2021 and they will say "We are replacing City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool with Norwich, Watford, Swansea, Brentford, Barnsley and Bournemouth, how many billions can we get per year?"
And sky will say, that sounds like the championship, in fact about 3/4s of the "new Premier league" have been in the championship under the current rights deal. and we pay £120m per year for the championship so it will be in that ball park."
And then the clubs will say, "gee that's a lot less than £3Bn a year isn't it? I'll go bankrupt if that happens"
And then they'll vote to keep the big 6.
Unfortunately, to stop this, it would require the people behind it or those benefitting the most to change course.Yeah you could be right about it being done.
Still I think the Yank owners are operating under North American sports thinking which is basically "who cares what the fans think". I've seen it all my life from the NFL, MLB and NHL. What I've learned about European Football following the PL these last 10 years is that the fans in footy have a lot more power and influence than what the owners are used to dealing with over here on this side of the pond.
Hopefully everyone stays vocal and firm and the whole miserable enterprise dies out this week.
Which is the bottom line. Trouble is, we still see it as our club and you can bet your bottom dollar, they don't.The club was here before the owners and staff and it’ll still be here long after they’ve gone. They’ve done amazing things for us but that gives them now fucking divine right to move us into this super league purely so they can reap the rewards of the huge profits and because they don’t want to miss out on it.
I’m sure we have lawyers that looked over itMark my words, City will be taken for a ride by these Yanks!
If City joined this at the 11th hour it makes it ten times more worrying. There’s absolutely no way on Earth we know the all the ins-and-outs of this... I can see nothing but being fucked in the arse and cast aside!
Only until their own agenda becomes clear. Let’s not pretend otherwise. So Bayern and PSG are now "the good guys" for going against it... We've really dropped a bollock here. So depressing.
Sadly, I think it's gone way past that stage budIs it too late for the club to say..."Given the overwhelming response from our fanbase, we have decided to decline our invitation"
Wishful thinking but I'd take it. Do it now City.
Nah the board members of the super league won't let this happen........hang on.Mark my words, City will be taken for a ride by these Yanks!

Why would they have asked us to join just to fuck us over? Surely they would have just not invited us?Mark my words, City will be taken for a ride by these Yanks!

Just watching the dippers vs Leeds.
Do I cheer for the old guard or our brothers in arms?
Ffs I feel sick at the thought.
Because we are useful to them right now, once they have full power they can do what they want. They wont have to answer to UEFA or FIFA anymore, will they even have to answer to the CAS?Why would they have asked us to join just to fuck us over? Surely they would have just not invited us?
