That's not going to work. Look at the table now: Do Leicester, West Ham, Everton go into the CL, or into the EL, even though they are above the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool? That is not a good product to sell to TV.

Lots of UK clubs have loaned against future TV revevue, so they'll be shitting themselves right now. Revenue is going to fall anyway for the PL because there isn't going to be more TV money overall, it will be redistributed to the SL from the national leagues and the CL. The fortuneless fourteen aren't going to be happy about City et.al. getting any of the PL money.

I think we're screwed if UEFA don't blink, both as a club and a sport because it will make UEFA untouchable.

And I think we're screwed if they do. Can you see City being allowed to win this Super League?
Why will the PL suffer the club's involved with the SL will still be playing in the PL.?

I’m really not sure why you’d want that either mate - the UEFA proposal is as bad as the ESL.

There really isn’t a ‘right option’ on the table at the moment, whichever side we went with.
The whole sorry thing is about the Rags, Dippers, Milan, Real and Barcelona. Most in fucking debt, or have owners who just bleed them dry. They want absolutely guaranteed European competition money. That's all this is about. They'll probably end up cutting a ridiculous deal with those corrupt wankers at UEFA.

The BBC News headline is that ministers are to do anything to block new league. No specifics but bashing greedy football clubs are easy PR wins for politicians. I don't think this will happen.

If City signed up at the very last moment then it suggests we have misgivings so exit it.
The first news I heard when it broke was that City had agreed in principle. I am hearing rumours of both Chelsea and City being told at the last minute about the breakaway, and the deal being join or be left behind.

I hope it is true and we've gone ahead with a rushed decision because in the cl;ear light of day it is looking like a very bad idea

yes their competition their rules (which they can make up as they go along)
And the big question is what happens if you fail these rules, what is to stop them creating a new set of FFP rules designed to make us fail?
Who regulates this, who gets to look at the books?

Can a team be expelled from the league even if they are a founding member and if so where do they then go to?

The FFP that Neville backed City over and said it was a disgrace?
True with Neville, you're right but you get my sentiment and upset.

Everybody is outraged but 99.9% of these people crying over a closed shop are the same people who were advocates of FFP which started that closure.

How many times has Klopp brought up money and City but now wants to say it should be fair.... FFP isn't fair ffs.

We were a year out of Europe despite all our lawyers. This proposed competition starts in 22/23. I don’t fancy a year of no league or cup games, with all our players suspended from international football on top.

This could get very nasty.
I think they'll actually start it this August my friend, probably at an even more advanced stage than anyone is aware of
