You'd need a date it would have to happen by, not a date it would happen on. No contract can be eternal but a contract can be time limited. For instance I'm doing up a property I rent at the moment with tenants in situ, but I've a tenant to move in in two weeks, but no later than a month. I don't have a property to rent right now but I've a binding contract to have one in between 2 and 4 weeks. Non existent now but legally binding in future.
