Remember the joker that fronted City for a week or so after the takeover. He made a complete horses ass of himself And was quickly binned.

He seemed like an honest bloke at the time...

i can only asume the club has a gun to its head as things stand if legal documents have been signed, no statement from MCFC, players saying nothing and that statement undersigned from Glazer would not have been our choice,,we have been completeley silenced and are backed into a corner either this or we are 100% behind the ESL and intend to carry it through

Backed into a corner by who, for what?

We are big boys, serious execs run this club.

Not in this country, I've heard of them but couldn't give a flying fuck for any of those sports. You're confusing American Sports with proper sports, I mean ffs, "World Series Baseball" involves a lot of USA and one Canadian team, fucking joke.

Basketball, like putting an empty tin of beans in the bin, pile of shite.
Mate, whether you like the game or not it’s still a sport and that was my point, they are sportsmen in the respective fields. I can’t fukin stand rugby but it’s still a sport. I’m not ignorant enough to argue otherwise.

I agree we are choosing between two evils here for sure. But the UEFA is much more lesser evil is my point and it preserves the merit thing a lot more.

Even the historic achievement is based on a five year rolling average (combined for all leagues). Imo this is the lesser (lot lesser) evil...not to mention this still motivates all clubs to perform at their best in their respective leagues. As I told I dont give a fuck about UEFA people or ESL people. I am against closing the shop which kills the dream of any club rising.

Fair enough mate - I don’t share your perspective, but I can see the logic.

Personally I find this whole ‘do the right thing City’ brainlessly simplistic and reductive when you look at the two self-serving stitch ups that are actually on the table.

My perspective is both options fundamentally change the game to protect the interests of the elites, and both are morally bankrupt.

I’d be pissed off whichever we were part of, so I couldn’t give a fuck if we leave the ESL or not if the alternative is this proposal from UEFA.

My anger isn’t that we’re part of the ESL and not this new CL - my anger is that football has been so compromised that these are the only two options available!

Ric and the mods should organise a sort of MOTD of this thread, where they present a daily review of the highlights.

"Well Bill, Didsbury Dave's had a shocker there. What was he thinking?"
"A conclusion to the last hundred pages which has taken place within the last 5 minutes, I can confirm that nothing has happened."
"Yes well the most significant thing today is that that the agenda is still on, Pep is awesome and the remaining 14 clubs wants the 6 clubs out of the league to fill their own pockets full of the UEFA money."
"I know, the greedy bastards"
"Unbelieve Jeff"

we are dammed if we do dammed if we dont, if we dont then say goodbye to all the top players they will go where the money is, if we do then we become part of a league nobody wants or supports, its unthinkable that we would not compete in the premier league fa cup league cup.

American sports are money driven, we all know football had gone down that path but we still recognise competition, promotion, relegation, ambition, something that's clearly lacking in USA sports, however, they do play to a dumb audience so fair fucks on that.

Presumably if EUFA are offering us a bung to withdraw, that can only mean a seat on the executive. We could be the good(ish) guys for once whilst sharing the executive with Bayern and PSG. Meanwhile, Dippers, Rags and the Arse are left twisting in the wind and taking all the blame. I’m starting to see how this might work in our favour:)
Plus Gill who was today re-elected to the UEFA executive.

I’ve lived in the states 40 years and I can say with confidence American sports are shit.
baseball: 162 boring games, so boring the commentators regularly chat about anything other than the game going on. World Series? What world?
Basketball: 3-4 super teams, based on what friends want to play with each other, with the superstars getting permission to routinely cheat (the Jordan rules)
NFL: 3 hours to play a 60 min game. Research has shown only about 6-8 minutes of actual game time is actually played.
NHL: fighting is illegal yet they allow it because without fights, the NHL would fold faster than you can imagine.
Also, look at the stands during any one of these sports. More people going to/from the concession stand than actually watching the games going on
NHL isn’t really an american sport, it’s canadian..

But I get the point.

Anyways, I can’t believe the club hasn’t made an annoucement yet. We want no part in this shitshow.

Seeing if BT will pay up UEFA dont fulfill the grand finale of the competition they fund, you mean? Its all bullshit. The governing bodies know in reality they have no power to stop clubs doing there own thing. The big argument is not if we are allowed to compete. Its the battle for where the TV deal gets cut up. The clubs involved have proven they alone can generate more than the whole Champions League combined. Its a Power Play on UEFA and nothing more.
It seems like a clubs only thing at the moment. Fans, Players & Managers all seem to be coming out against the ESL.

Infantino has just said the twelve clubs are either in, or out. No half measures will be accepted. No one can stop the ESL, but national FA's, UEFA & FIFA can throw them & their players out of their competitions. That's more than a Power Play.
