If we sign Grealish then I think Sterling is in a battle for that LW position. Long term you have to think the club still wants Foden centrally and he may be the successor to Gundogan. If Foden goes central at all we are way short at LW
Although not a deal breaker. There are better alternatives but if the club has opted for Grealish then so be it.And he also has a shit haircut
Although Grealish hasn't helped win Villa trophies and,was kept very quiet in last season Carabao cup final and in the home fixture against villa this season and has missed the last couple of months through injury (not the ideal time during the final push for trophies). At least when we were first was linked with Mahrez he had played a huge part in Leicester's success and looked like he could play a part for City. The reason why we are about to win our 3rd title in 4 years and closing in on perhaps our first champions league (and countless other cups trophies) whereas Liverpool are falling apart is because they pad their squad with average players like Shaqiri, Tsimikas etc. Whereas we buy top quality players even when we don't need to
Cantwell may be the better business decision but he's not close to Grealish's level and honestly can't see Cantwell being good enough whereas Grealish probably is
And he has probably kept them in the PL.Hes created the 3rd most chances in the premier league this season only behind KDB and Kane.

That's a fair point. If we do sign him he'd need to cut that out or will become a walking yellow card. I do think hes got an edge to his game that makes him frustrating to play against. The kind of player that you love when he's on your side and hate when he isn't.He isn't a nasty or dirty player but more a player who likes the grass too much. He won't buying anymore soft freekicks if he did sign for us.
Reading the comments on here this seems like the most leaked transfer of all time. From someones best mate, to the training ground, from Grealish himself, Southgate seems to know, he is a really good lad, who just wants to win. City seemingly have leaked it too.
More leaks than in my 120 yr old Spanish roof, oh yeah Spanish blue has info too, from the Villa captain of yesteryear no less, I wonder if the tea lady has put her hat in the ring-)
The time to improve is when you are winning! Something we failed to do in recent years? Haaland, grealish and nuno Mendes makes our opponents feel defeated already imo.
All about being ruthless isn't it? I think we suffered (especially in the 2012 Summer window) of feeling loyal to the player who'd just won us the league then suffered the season after.
Not saying revitalise a lot but there's obvious room for improvement right now isn't there despite how good we've been. Striker, left back etc. (like you said!)
Don't need the extra creativity the team does need the players who can really take their chancesSome are still doubting his quality? Jeez.
Don't think City have leaked it but I was told that when the story appeared recently, they didn't deny it and they are usually quick to tell journos if they got stories like that wrong (which has been pointed out by others on this thread) but I was told that directly by someone that definitely knows such things and commented specifically in connection with Grealish. Hopefully, I've not put the kiss of death on it by commenting. As I also posted previously, Grealish's people thought he was going to The Rags and then they bought Van de Beek.
Outstanding player with a higher ceiling to reach, certainly when surrounded by top players.
There's no debate to be had, he's hungry, he wants to play for City, he is desperate for it to happen.
Players with talent and motivation are a lethal combo.
What the chances for it to be done??Outstanding player with a higher ceiling to reach, certainly when surrounded by top players.

His character will change wants he leaves Villa. He won't be the Billy big bollocks at a bigger club like City, where they have a world class squadCharacter matters because of squad harmony and the dressing room dynamic but I'll trust Pep and the others to assess that. The England lads will have seen how he is during the international matches and can probably make an assessment as well.
